minecraft.msi? help!

    so my computer recently got fixed. i was gonna download Minecraft but when it said in the little download thing in the corner of chrome it said... Minecraft.msi.... WTF IS THAT!? WHERE DID MINECRAFT.EXE GO?! im scared if i download it it wont work or something ;-;

    I think msi is a universal file or something like that- it should work for you regardless of what you're on I believe

    u need a msi gaming lappy to run the minecraft clitent

    It's a Standard Microsoft Install File (MicroSoftInstaller). You Need Windows installer to deploy the install Routine that Comes with a .msi file. But you should have the last version of the installer if you have any Windows OS from Windows 7 on. Otherwise you can download it from Microsoft.com.

    The fist .exe on the site given by Chshrawr

    Did you install it with the .exe or with the .msi file?

    Anyway, I'd follow the Suggestion given to you by this message: uninstall + reinstall. If you installed it with .exe, go get Windows installer (I'm still wondering how you cannot have it since you have Window 10!) and try the .msi. If you used the .msi file, go get the .exe.

    nvm its working now... i think? it stopped at downloading netty 1.6.jar...

    It freezes?

    Check if Java is up to date java.com: Java + You, download and install the latest Version.

    It's Windows only. ;p

    .msi is an installer file.

    Congrats! Do you know where the Problem was, or did just manage it by random trial & error?

    I had to exit out of the launcher again and it worked
