First of all, my main dream is for everyone to be at peace and to love themselves. But, my next dream, would be to animate and produce a show that represents differences, and the struggles people have to cope with. I will do this not only through the plot, but mainly with the characters. I thought I'd share my characters and what they represent with you. Akira Kaneko Struggles : Insecurity About character Akira's dream is to be a model, however he is extremely insecure and believes people will only judge him. He represents how a lot of people have dreams, but are sometimes overwhelmed with the idea that they'll be no good at it. He's presented as a fairly good looking person, which is meant to show that all of the people that think they're useless, ugly and a joke are beautiful just the way they are. At the end of the series, he models for the first time with his friends supporting him all the way through it. Not only does he get to complete his dream but he realises that he has his true friends by his side, and he's happy just the way he his. Makoto Mori Struggles : His dream is a disappointment to his father About character Makoto has a passion for dancing, however his father (the president) wants him to also become a part of politics. Makoto tried telling him no, but he wasn't having any of it. So to avoid becoming a disappointment to his father, he dances in secret. He represents family problems, and how not all families are accepting. Throughout the series, he realises that it's his own life, not his fathers. At the end of the series he confronts his father. His father still doesn't like the idea of his song being a dancer, but tries to support him. He's meant to show that nobody can tell you how to live your life but yourself, and that no dream should be discouraged by your loved ones. Yumi Ogawa Struggles : None About character Yumi loves everyone and everything. She sees the beauty in the world and always encourages everyone to be themselves. She represents the good people in this world, and how not everyone is full of hatred . At the end of the series it's revealed that she knew all along that all 8 of the characters (including her) didn't actually have any "super powers". She knew that they had the spirit to save others, and there was no need to have super powers. They were true heroes, not needing to have super strength to save people. She's meant to show that saving a life can come in quite a lot of forms, as can heroes. Sometimes, words are enough to save another persons life. Yoko Kondo Struggles : Mental Disorder About character She struggles with one major disorder, bipolar disorder. She finds it difficult to cope with, and tries her hardest to be normal. She gets stressed easily, but with the help from her girlfriend (Hiromi) she's getting through it. At the end of the series, her disorder is still there, yes, but she's coping better with it as her friends are by her side. She's meant to show that people do have serious illnesses, and it does affect them greatly, but you can help by being their shoulder to lean on. Hirmoi Kato Struggles : Being noticed About character She has a strong sense of justice and equality. She wants to change the world, she wants peace. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't stop those bullies from punching that kid. She couldn't help anyone. She tried to voice her opinion, but her family never listened and told her she was too young to understand. At the end of the series, she realises that she helped all those people come over their fears and her friends to keep fighting for what is right. She represents the hope, and how you should never give up on what you believe is right. She helped her girlfriend with her disorder, and her friends when they almost gave up. Kyoko Mori (Not related to Makoto) Struggles : Orphan About character Her parents were out on a camping trip when they fell down a cliff and died. She was at her grandparents since she was young so she was okay, however this means she grew up with the 'ghosts' of her parents haunting her. The ghosts constantly told her she was a disappointment and it was her fault they died. She eventually developed anxiety and struggled with making any friends. She represents those who are haunted by their pasts, and can't get over it. At the end of the series her friends helped her to let go of the past and convince her to move on with her life. The ghosts go away, but before they do they tell her how proud they are of her, and they'll always be watching and helping every step of the way.
I have a feeling this is going to be very interesting. I have my popcorn ready, let me know when more is added
OMG! How did edit that? Can u make one of those cute things. (I want my skin) (Skin Stealer and Viewer - Minecraft Tools - SeusCraft) (If you dont know, my ign is: ItzNeonx) Note: I wish yr dream can come true
Added yet another character (also, I will be changing the races of some characters so that overall they represent diversity and how everyone has their problems, but they're all human with emotions)
This is very cool, and interesting. Maybe you should try and make this a series on Youtube with annotations? I don't know, I'm a fool. But cool idea, about your show. It does however seem relatively cliche to see a character wish to be something but is wished to be something else by his father[who is someone in power/important position(ex., Dead Poet's Society, )]. Continue on with this, I'm intrigued.
I am hoping to make it a series on YouTube, but I don't know how? Animating is proving to be difficult. Also, yeah it does seem cliche now that you mention it, I should change it up a bit
Also apologies for the delays on characters! I'm in my phone and won't be at my laptop for a few hours! But here are the rest of them :
