So there's been a lot of talk in the news about clowns calling schools/organizations and sending them threats, as well as showing up in towns and kidnapping people. Most people seem to think that its some sort of organization doing this. However, it's not. Allow me to explain. The clown crisis is not being caused by ISIS, the government, or some kind of massive pedophilia ring. But rather, it is just a combination of things that have been happening in the world lately. First off, around now is a fairly uneventful time of the year. It's still fairly far away from Halloween and there isn't much in terms of holidays/yearly events going on right now. Because of that, murderers/kidnappers choose this time of the year to commit crimes so that the day they commit the crime on will be more memorable. I've know psycho kids that claim they're going to shoot up the school on a certain date. This date tends to be far away from any major holiday so that the day their shooting happens will be remembered more. Second, its the peak of the 2016 election campaign right now. This combined with the fact that there are no major holidays around now is why so much clown activity is going on right now. People make threats so that they will be talked about by the candidates and make whatever their doing more renowned and infamous. Now, you might be thinking, "why clowns? why not hockey players or lumberjacks or something?". Well, it's not just clowns. Because a lot of the threats and criminal activity has been done by clowns, thats what people associate a threat with when it happens. Even if it hasn't been done by an actual clown. The reason so many people have been dressing up like clowns is exactly the same reason. Once a large amount of people decided to dress up like clowns, other psychos decide to go along with this and dress up like clowns as well. You might also be thinking, "well why clowns in the first place?". Prior to the clown activity going on currently, movies and famous incidents created an idea that psychos dress up like clowns and kill people in those costumes. Because of this, clowns were the first thing people thought of as a disguise when they wanted to kill/kidnap someone. In the end, the clown crisis can be explained through simple psychology and a combination of factors that have been happening. But really, it isn't being caused by some conspiracy-theory-like group or plan. I hope this explained some stuff about why clown sightings have spiked recently.

this is getting out of hand but like there has always been a difference between creepy clowns and nice clowns, that difference is that one of them is tolerable while the other doesnt belong in this universe. DOWN WITH THE CREEPY CLOWNS
There's only been a handful of actual threats. Everything else is just a bunch of unprofessional copy cats looking for attention. It's as simple as that.

there was a lockdown in a school near me because there was a clown outside, turned out it was just one of the kids pretending.

My theory on all this clown stuff. I believe that this is the government. Now allow me to explain. President Obama is almost done with his second term of presidency. He tried to get a third term but was turned down due to it being unconstitutional since about the early 1900's Now i believe President Obama is setting this whole thing so he can continue being president. (if these clowns become enough of a "threat" President Obama has the Ability to call Marshall law therefore allowing him to stay in office.
Most schools that I know of in my area have full on banned Clown Outfits, or most clown related stuff I guess :I
