I like your opinion and honetly yes it is true that it seems like a am just throwing money out but its not a ton of money (other than donor $50 and $100) and its something I wish to do for people that cant afford/have the time to get donor ranks

these both are VERY true but the top voters take every day to vote most people don't have the time to vote every day. But both of you are correct that they do get $25 for the shop but as said above most people don't have time to vote every or most of every day of the month
