It's not really a skyblock issue. It's minecraft itself. Every server is loosing players because minecraft is simply getting less and less popular.
Also, please let's not go off-topic because of a geek. (I know this sounds like I'm calling someone a Geek, but I mean it in the way as in the player)
I think the main reason, why people are leaving skyblock.net/skyblock.org because there are modded Skyblock servers which are from famous youtubers (e.g. the camping rusher with almost 1mio subs) and then normal skyblock from 2012 gets boring to them ._.
Well, that's the thing. We need to make this certain SkyBlock server stand out and make it more fun with unique details in it. And Audience opinion is lacking a lot.
Skyblock in its prime was good because it was simple and fun. The thing is, once you build your island, it's more up to the community to make it worth it. With factions or survival, constantly you're on to mine or defend your base. To loot, or to wage war. Here, it's building and talking. People don't feel they need to be here a lot as the server is mainly build and relax. Not saying that's a bad thing, but most kids (as a lot of kids play this) want to do what the Youtubers do, or want something that's big and extravagant. Shiny things and fast past drives the young child's energy and attention. Hence why Skyblock is dying out to them. You're not constantly doing something, to where on others you are.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't, confirming which geek someone is talking about has nothing to do with server downfall. That is an amazing point there, Sega. Well, we still need to grab some players in somewhat how. Otherwise we can say our fellow goodbyes to the server
what are you talking about im telling you its not cyps fault the server isnt as active, it's because no one plays minecraft anymore
I'm kind of an elder on the server, i started in 2013, there, you had to make your island grief-safe, i made a trading room, which was surrounded by Lava, if the trader tried to break out, there was lava, even /jump put them in Lava, back then, the only way to get to other islands was by /tpa which is only for Donors only. I had a Casino which was set way below my island (where the game got remade on my island <SkyCasino>). I'm more focused on building MiniGames and let the people play them, i want them to have fun on the server, and you can even win alot with a bit luck I noticed how the prices dropped for Dias or other things. I noticed how the community has changed, i noticed a few things, but one thing has never changed, the basics!
To be honest, a lot of people have given up on Minecraft because of these 'horrible' updates. The server itself has lost players. But this can't be fixed by just adding one thing. A combination of things need to happen in order for the server to be populated again.
I personally enjoyed no island protect a whole lot more. There was more of a reason to be active and there were more things to do whether managing customers or feeling mischievous sneaking around a restricted are on somones island.
you aren't wrong, but its not going to come back to what it was, maybe won't even stay afloat but that's dependent on the next moves for the server.
Are you implying that you did bridge to other people's islands Anyways, as others have said, it's not just skyblock of which is dying but minecraft all together. Just like other games that have been very popular, will need to eventually die. If the owners want to keep the server alive, they need to be more active with the server and being online basically as much as our super mods are online. If they don't want to be dedicated to the server, they should at least sell it to someone who'd care.
I suppose you could say that other servers like minigame servers tend to attract more players than Skyblock.
