Not sure if any of you noticed, but the server has been lacking an enormous amount of players, there used to be at least a solid 100+ in the morning and it would rise to nearly 600. Now, there is about 30 in the morning and less than 150 in the evening. CypriotMerks should try and spend more money to boost the players on the server, like advertising it. Even if he loses money on it, he will gain it back if more players come and donate to this server. Anyways, I was just wondering about all of your opinions, and how to get this server popular again.

EDIT: Without being updated to 1.10, we also lose a heck of a lot of players from this. All the plug-ins that aren't custom made by TannerLittle have been updated. All we're waiting now is for Tanner to update his custom plug-ins, and finally update to the latest client. This is a crucial part in the server losing players, barely anyone wants to play on a 1.8 server. They want to play on the latest version of the game-play.

I remember one of the main reasons I got Donor was so I could still get online when the server reached its player limit. It's hard to say for certain what caused the decrease in players, but my guess is that people don't find skyblock as interesting or exciting as it used to be.

 

I think there should be a sale for donating right now. A player that donates is more likely to stay playing on the server.

 

It could be that, and if that is the case, then we need to find a unique & Interesting idea that makes this one skyblock server stand out and shine.

That wouldn't be a bad idea, but then if Cypriot doesn't make enough money from that, the server could go down, people asking for chargebacks and Cypriot is basically bankrupt.

 

When a player is brand new, they often have questions.
--How do I get another sapling?
--How do I make a cobble gen?
--My lava turned into obsidian! What do I do?
--How do I add my friend to my island?
--How do I get grass blocks?
Etc.

If the player is greeted warmly and their questions are answered, they are more likely to stay playing on the server.

If the player is ignored, they'll likely get frustrated and quit.

 

Maybe there could be a section in the spawn where it answered questions like that. /warp FAQ is hardly accessible by defaults, as they can't do /warp. They don't know about /warp FAQ.

And just all of the drama created from the server over nothing is scaring players away and making them quit.

There needs to be more active admins on the server and if Cyp and Noobcrew aren't going to be active and are really just here for the money (which isn't bad because I'd probably end up doing it too if I had a server. Who doesn't want free money?) and they need to promote some members that are very dedicated active and trustworthy to the server. I believe though I don't know him really well that someone like RobloxianRoblox would make a great admin as he is very active. That's just my opinion anyway.

 

Well, Cypriot & Crew are experiencing extreme trust problems, being an Administrator is a very big thing, and if they don't want help with it, they need to take action. Otherwise, the server will literally collapse. Cypriot said himself he trusts all his staff, but he won't give anyone creative/extra permissions:

 

I believe that Moderators, and I know this for a fact, cannot be on at all times, and not being paid really fails to provide more moderators to actively be on most of the time because the Mods do have lives and are doing the best that they can, anyway. I believe more Donors should start actively helping new greenies and getting them actively in the community such as pointing them to our site, this one, and helping them get on their feet, and maybe letting them join your island if trusted enough. We shouldn't expect the mods to be able to do everything, and I'm sure that the owners are very busy. It is just like real life, I work in a company that owns 14 stores. My store is one of the less popular ones, so the owners really don't pay much attention to my store even though we bring them hecka money, but it's just the fact that they have so much more that they have to tend to then to worry about my store.

Anyway.

Well that is one of the reasons why the server is having a downfall. Cyp needs to find someone that is trustworthy if he wants to stop the downfall.

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick, I'm not saying that moderators/players need to be active and all, I'm just saying that many people are quitting etc.

If he cannot trust anyone online, then he and Crew should get one of their other IRL friends or something. We're lacking another important member.

What can we as players do to help out without commands and such? Tell people not to spam and just contribute to the spam and etc? Us players can't do much but advise the staff of the servers to change this impending doom of the server
