Hey there! I know I'm not well known around here as I play sporadically, but I've been around a good while, and I'm a highroller. I have a well established island, and a new friend from IRL who would like to play on /economy with me. He has not claimed his own island yet, but I want to figure out a way for us to have islands that are next to each other- I need some advice on the best/easiest way to do this so we can bridge our islands together.

Here's a couple concerns I have:
- I don't know if server staff has the ability to set my friend's "newisland" coordinates to an available island adjacent to mine, or not.

-I'd rather not have to give up my island and start anew, but I have already made as many preparations as possible to do so (things I want to keep are packed up in chests, and my /echest is full of the more important items.

-Even if I have to give up my island and get a new one, how do my friend and I go about it in such a way that guarantees that our islands will be adjacent to each other?

So to sum things up: best case scenario for me is, server staff gets my new friend an island right next to mine,
second best scenario is, server staff walks us through exactly what we need to do on teamspeak and makes sure things work out right, in order for both of us to start from scratch next to each other.

Oh one more thing- aside from my echest, I have about 4 or 5 chests full of items that I want to bring with me IF I have to rebuild from scratch. I'm not sure how to manage that.

They link narcisa gave you is good but unfortunately you do have to reset your current island unless you want an alt to hold your current one.

 

The thread Cissa supplied should explain well how to make your friend your neighbor.

Since you both will need to new island, I suggest getting a mod or a trusted friend to hold your items when you make a new island.

 

Alright, I actually did see that guide before I posted this, but this part confuses me a bit:

First, make sure you and your friend(s) don't have an island and if you left your island make sure to give it to someone else by cooping them and you leaving or else when you make an island you will get the same spot as your previous island did.

Okay so, my new friend doesn't have his own island at all, but he IS co-opped into mine. So, I'm not sure what command I need to use to leave my new island and get a totally new one, and furthermore, how I would transfer the items in those 4or 5 chests of mine after I make a new island, because the guide says my friend would need to make a new island at the same time, which would then make the chests on my original island unavailable, right?

 

Have your friend /coop leave
In order for you to delete your island (rather than just replace it), you someone else to coop you and then /coop leave

Your chests will have to be stored on another player's island.

 

Heh, apparently we were both typing up replies at the same time. So, it seems now all I need is a mod to help us out and make sure things go smoothly x.x Trouble is.. I don't know who's a mod and who's not.. I've been asking in game but no actual mods have replied.

 

You can use /list to check. Any actual mod will have a [Mod] prefix.

 

Adding on to what Malfoy said, to message a mod, do /m <name> <message>. If the message goes to someone else, use /realname <nick> to find the username of the mod.
