hi, harambe here. many users in the past of this community got banned for post, rating and follower farming. they used alternative accounts to promote themselves and their content, thus why they got penetrated by 11 inches ban hammer. and the question is, do those human beings actually deserve the punishment? the forum rating system doesn't grant user anything, it doesn't grant fame nor create a positive reputation. the ratings are worthless, the numbers on profile don't interest anyone, the amount of "followers" doesn't say anything about a person. their actions only show how miserable those people are. if you spend an insane amount of time on creating a good opinion about yourself in an online game community, then there's obviously something terribly wrong in your life. if you get offended by someone's opinion in the form of a dislike or other negative rating, then you should quit Internet and never touch it again. long story short, I believe that the rules about the post/rating/follower farming and abuse don't deserve to exist. surely, this community is G-rated, but I'm pretty sure that the alerts about negatively rated posts won't encourage anyone to cut their wrists or commit suicide. we want a mature community and thick-skinned players. don't let this server turn into a kindergarten, full of becky-like kids.
Well the community is not going to become thick skinned by changing the rules on ratings and certainly I have no problems enforcing the rules because the moment you remove this many people will end up the target of ratings that are not deserved and there will still be complaining to remove them and we will have to remove them. Still work for staff. Doesn't change anything. A mature player will understand when to use ratings when there is a restriction and not go around using them excessively and to target players and for every little thing. Those are the players we want.

I happen to agree with the fact that rating systems are pointless. I cant really offer a solid opinion tho because skyblock forums is my only social media account =P Cute
