In Game Name : Tew_De_Flipper Timezone : GMT I Live in the UK I speak English and a little German Do not own my own server, looking at making one though I don't record, but have the software to do so. I do have a Youtube (Its Harv) and making a gaming channel in which I will play Minecraft. I think I should become a moderator because I am fair and wont ban/tell people off for no reason, I also play this skyblock.net everyday and looking to get Donor 50. I also think that being a Moderator would make my experience of Skyblock a lot better and a loy more fun! I am active on this server 2/6 hours a day but if promoted to Moderator I will spend more to make sure the server is running straight and helping people in need of help. I have been playing Skyblock for 2 years on and off, this was the first server I really got into and prepared to spend reasonable amount of money into the server to show my love. This last 6 months I have been getting back in and will hopefully not stop playing as it is so fun! I have been banned once of what I remember but it was for 30 minutes due to advertising my Banner and Skin Comp business. But learnt and never been banned since I have had any past experience as a Moderator but that is why I am willing to take the time and learn and make Skyblock a better place! Thank You very much for reading my application Even if I don't qualify Mod I will still purchase Donor 50 and make Skyblock the best minecraft server possibe Thank You
The stuff I have bolded are things I found inappropriate for a person looking to be a staff member here. It is irrelevant that you are planning on making a server, this is a mod application, please focus on this server. The moderator rank is not for the player's enjoyment, but for the player to help those in need! You're here to help, not increase your own fun and experience of Skyblock. You being a donator is irrelevant to your moderator application, or for showing your love to the server. Also, being a donor doesn't mean you will make the server better. Also, you have poor grammar and spelling, please fix that. Also, you do not meet the criteria for staff as it a two-way job. The Requirements 50 Post Count Two Factor Authentication - Click here to set up 2FA. 2 Weeks registered on the Skyblock forums Moderators are required to have Skype or Teamspeak 3 for offline communication. Failure to follow the requirements will have your application ignored.Note: Please remember that these criteria may change at any given time. If so, we will do our best to let you know so you can adjust accordingly.
you joined the forums to make a mod app? didn't even bother reading the requirements? not to be rude but that shows a desperate quality from you.
Don't say what donor rank you are. Anyway, no support. This app lacks of detail and you need to meet the requirements before making an app
As others have said, it appears you have another moderator application open and on top of that you do not meet the requirements to apply for mod. Please meet those requirements before applying. Good luck ^-^
No support. Meet the requirements first, then come back to apply again. The app itself looks like you didn't take that much time to write. A well written mod app should be thoughtful and show that you have put much effort into it. So you'll only be more active if you get moderator? Being more active even if you aren't a mod yet shows dedication and willingness to get the position. If you tell us that you will be more active once you're promoted just shows that you won't really care until you're a mod.
As someone who plays this all the time and has never seen you, I think you should wait a little until you apply. Get your post count and time online up. I hope to see you helping out in chat. Myrmidous perhaps you could offer some feedback on the whole application? x))
I was watching Steve Irwin reruns. •glances at application• My wife is going to church in 20 minutes. I'll have her pray for you. In the meantime thank you for letting me post some commentary, Mr. Tew. Forgive me if this takes a while: I happen to be flipping back and forth between projects at the moment. Let's get started. Suggested listening: Green Day, American Idiot Nice to meet you, Mr. DeFlipper. Thank you for taking time out of your day to write out an application, I sincerely hope you didn't sprain your thumbs. Mobile devices have such small screens. GMT... what? I am going to guess your offset is GMT+0 since you mention living in the UK. A lot of the world (and most Americans) don't really understand the whole "Greenwich Mean Time" thing. We appear to have lost some context. From this point forward Mr. DeFlipper has dropped the template questions harder than the beat at a Burning Man rave. We are left with only the answers and must make up our own questions to fit them. I am Myrmidous, the Application Archaeologist. All quotes below are edited to include what I think the question may be. That must be hard to find hosting for, sir. Are you going to split your time between maintaining your hobby and playing other games? I envy people who can balance goals, nicely done. Wish you the best of luck. I am slightly concerned about the implied threat of "...but I have the software to do so" I'll buy some blackout curtains for the house this afternoon. Sidenote: One moment, always interested in new YouTube content. Let me give your videos a viewing. Time passes...! That was actually not bad! You are very good at musical transitions, particularly on "My Little Adventure in Germany". Normally these sorts of amateur videos are so full of blur and motion sickness they could be used as a Dramamine advertisement. I'll be dialing back the on the humor a bit. You are extremely young and this worries me. Remember, kids: If you tell people off you better have a darn good reason. #TheMoreYouNo First, the good: Being fair is a good quality in any position of authority, +1 to you. Then, the bad: Becoming a Moderator is not going to make your SkyBlock experience better or more fun. It is more like standing in front of a firehose of hate while trying to keep your mouth closed. This is an unpaid, high stress position working with kids that think "kys" is the sickest burn since the NICU caught on fire. You'd be giving up a lot of your free time to voluntarily handle more sewage than a public toilet. Think a while before you jump in, sir. That isn't how this works, Mr. DeFlipper. First you put in the time and effort and then you request a promotion. No-one hands out positions to people who will only come around more if they get power. That "2/6 hours" part threw me off harder than a one-legged bull rider. I read it as "I'm here two out of six hours a day" -- You must have some other hobby you like wayyyy more than SkyBlock. I fully support donating to help maintain something you enjoy. I find it odd that so many people want everything online to be free but think nothing about buying coffee every day-- that's an odd behavior. It's almost like anonymity somehow turns people into thieves. So, +1 to you for a willingness to support. No points for time spent on the server, I find your math a bit strange (two years, minus six months, then subtract "off and on"). Can you show something you've made with your time here to demonstrate how much effort you've spent? Honestly receiving a Ban Hammering is almost a right of passage around here. Several people get hammered so routinely they've spontaneously acquired Mjölnir tattoos on their foreheads. It's the folks that claim they've never gotten a Rando-Ban-O that make me suspicious... Do you have any sort of experience? Have you ever been part of a debate team or captain of a football club? Did you run a church event? Perhaps organized a Pokemon Go run? Any experience where you handle groups of people and resolve problems would help you here. If you can't list Minecraft things why not mention you've been a volunteer grief counselor for the last 6 months? Experience is the #1 thing that gets you hired, IRL or online. Put whatever you can, do not leave this empty. You're quite welcome, Mr. DeFlipper. That was a rather interesting read; I especially liked your YouTube videos. When you have a moment please get off your mobile, hop on a computer and run a spellchecker over this application. There are enough spelling errors here to give an English teacher heart arrhythmia. A little more time and care needs to be spent with your replies to show you're serious on the application. Speaking of applications: Please put the template questions back on your post. You have missed some of the important ones and the answers you have provided make less sense without context. Best of luck to you in the future, sir. Support Status: You Ate The Dirt Jellybean (Really enjoyed your "Bernie Botts" video. +1 to you.)
