So if I am talking to a friend, who knows a certain server which is not Skyblock, am I allowed to say "Want to go over ****plex? (Censoring the first four letters, so that that isn't an ip nor a server name which can be looked up on google for the ip) This way only who already knows the server would know which server I am talking about, therefore I wouldn't be taking away any players from the server as they might already play there
I would have censored the last four letters because that way, most People will know which Server you are talking about And no, AFAIK, it is not allowed.
Its not an ip, but I don't play on that server and yet I know the server because of the plex. Just do the first four, but stick to saying it to PM, just to be on the safe side.
You are allowed to say a server name only if you do not ask people to join it. We prefer all dealings with other servers including ip's and server names are only done in PM. You are not allowed to ask people to join other servers and you may only give an ip in pm if the person asks for it.
That was exactly the point: can I cut out some letters so that only those who ALREADY a know the server know what I am talking about? Also, I did not ask whether I could say in global chat "Hey! Join ****plex and play with me", I asked whether telling a specific person in global chat "Wanna have fun on ****plex?" This way, only people who know the server know what I am talking about. I blacked the first four letters out on purpose, instea of the last four, as O know exactly that those who know plex understand what I am talking about, and since such a large and widely known server not really advertising needs, I was wondering whether or not it was illegal. what does AFAIK mean? ^^^
I blacked the first four letters out on purpose, as I my question whether or not I can censor a part of the name so only those who know ****plex already understand what I am talking about. There are plenty of servers that begin with ****, but I know only one that ends with -plex. Basically my intention is to ask a friend who already knows and regularly plays on -plex to join me (in global chat). But I do not intend to say in global chat "L()()K! ===> JOIN ****plex!!!!" From what I understood, if I said join ****plex while blacking out -plex instead of ****, it would he legal...?
I don't believe this is allowed as even if you say ****plex, most players will know what you mean and go off skyblock onto ****plex. As long as this is in /msg, it is allowed. Don't do it in global chat otherwise it will be considered advertising, therefore, a mute.
