Not butt hurt at all about him not getting promoted lol... I used him as a logical reason...
I completely agree that it's a good system to filter the good mods from the bad. But what's the point of doing that when people are going to be a tmod for 3 months? It's ridiculous the time they're being restricted for. That's why I feel the rank is unnecessary.
Considering there's like 5 small little changes, (biggest being accessing players islands), your role between being a tmod and mod doesn't change at all. The only difference is now you can actually do stuff.
True. However it seems that rarely happens, and it's hurting the server more than helping it having tmods.

Nah, I think it's helping more.
Not all tmods are fit to be mods.

I will gladly support this, as when mods get full quicker, the chances of them screwing up and no more mods are higher.

Name a few of these mods? Because nearly every TMod gets mod unless they resign first for a different reason

I've seen it happen on org a couple of times, but I don't remember the usernames. It was quite a while ago.

What I am saying, is that this phase is important because of experience. Not commands, we learn most of the commands in this phase and familiarise ourselves with it. That is why this phase is crucial.

No support, though I do think they should be more strict with the time period and either promote or demote them.

TBH this whole thread is just a cry rant. Quit trying to single out a specific rank (TMod). Let's just remove all of the staff because we don't need them. #24 years of Purge

I doubt your experience would drastically change if you started as a mod. You'd still get the same amount of questions in game and the same amount of help from the more experienced mods...
Couldn't have said it better myself ;)

Oh that you make a big difference Mr. I was a tmod myself, believe me, I know what I'm talking about. :)

As do I. There's practically no change from tmod to mod that's why I made this suggestion.

I feel as though this rank isn't beneficial to the server (while yes, sometimes it might be for the mod), denying the tmods some basic moderating permissions is pointless. It especially hurts the server when most tmods are a tmod for 3 months.

I think it helps new mods so they can get situated. It tells the in-game players that they're new and they're still learning the basics. It lessens the stress level for new mods a little. If someone is a trial mod, then the players in game will understand if they are struggling, having problems, or don't know all the commands.

Let's start with something simple. What will happen to all the tmods if the rank is removed? You can't make them all full mod or demote all of them. Moderators earned their position and it's not fair to kick them off because they were a tmod. That isn't a reason on why they should be kicked off.

They'd instantly become a mod, like how it used to be lol. I'm suggesting getting rid of the rank, not getting rid of the tmods...
While this is logical and quite helpful for the new incoming mods, it's ridiculous that the time they spent "learning the basics" is roughly 2-3 months on average (or so it seems). I feel there would be no difference in how they are treated whether they start as tmod or mod. The idea behind it is good. I completely agree. But the system is pointless when Cyp doesn't track the tmod's progress. (I can name to examples to back this up off the top of my head).

Sure, tmods could be promoted faster when they're ready, but all the recent tmods that haven't been promoted have reasons.

Then clearly they aren't fit as a mod, no?

Not exactly. Maybe they were suspicious, but no one was sure if they were bad/had bad intentions or not. They wouldn't be promoted, they'd be watched to see if they were doing what they were supposed to.

As for the inactive ones, maybe they are in a period of inactivity. The were recently promoted, but had something urgent and had to take a 1 month break. Then, the wouldn't be promoted cause they weren't inactive, but they wouldn't be demoted as they are allowed to take a break.
