Server name (.net / .org): skyblock.net In-game name: Minecrafter1377 Full exact Ban Message: Multiple reports, looting. Appeal @ Skyblock.net -littlguyy Did you read the rules? Yes. Why do YOU think you were banned? I think I was banned for griefing and breaking stuff and stealing stuff on people's islands, but I can assure you it wasn't actually me, someone had hacked me and had hacked my Minecraft account and I have hopefully fixed the problem so it won't happen again. Was this an incorrect ban? Yes, even thought it looks like I did it, but I never did, I was on the server from about 0800 - 1000 MDT and the event happened in the afternoon MDT. Why do you think you should be unbanned? I have hopefully fixed the problem with the person who had hacked my account and had changed my password from an 8-character password to a password over 20 characters long.
But why, it is 100% true! I can post some proof of some of it. This NEVER used to be here every time I logged on to my computer. Left Side: After Right Side: Before Explain that to me, and NO I did not do it myself.
It was a fast open and close thing and I had barely enough time to take a screen shot of it. If needbe, I can post a short video of it running.
It doesn't really matter if you were hacked or not. Internet security is easy. Don't go on websites that are bad. Simple. It's your own fault for either getting trojaned/hacked. You know how I know all this stuff? Because I've done tons of research on internet security. Don't give me that excuse that someone hacked you remotely without you doing anything. Because one, that's impossible. And two, it's impossible. The bottom line is that you are ultimately responsible for YOUR account. We don't ban the person, we ban the account. And I'll tell you why we do this. 1. It pretty much gets rid of all the possible liars out there who just want to put excuses to get their account unbanned. Trust me, we've heard pretty much every excuse in the book. We're masters at excuses. 2. Internet security is YOUR responsibility. We in no way have control over what you do with your account, your internet, or how you browse your sites. 3. Because your account and possibly your computer has been compromised, you still hold a potential threat to the server. Meaning, I bet that 99% of people on this forum right now do not know how to properly get rid of a FUD (Fully Undetectable) trojan virus. Meaning, you might think you're in the clear but chances are, you're still infected. 4. Think of your account as your child. If your child goes around stealing things in a candy store, who has to take responsibility of that child? If you guessed you, then you're correct. Yay! You receive a complimentary muffin! Same thing applies to your account. If you can't properly take care of your minecraft account, then I don't really see why you should be on the server in the first place. Your account is your link to minecraft. It's ultimately what people, and your friends and even people you don't associate with, will judge you on. If you can't take care of it, then ultimately what does that say as you as a person, and your priorities. I don't mean to get personal, I'm just saying, it doesn't make you look very responsible.
I can replicate those screens very easily without my computer being infected by malware or a virus But if you didnt do it your self as you claimed then its time to clean your computer You need: A virus scan Malware scan And if that doesnt work.... reinstall windows
I actually disagree with you Justin, no offense. But even if you reinstall windows, it won't have any effect on the virus. Most viruses have this thing called a persistence module, which is basically it saying that no matter what it's going to remain in some form of memory from the time you start your computer to the time you shut it off. Seeing as this is very tricky, there are a few things that you can do. Go here and download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Run a full system scan. Go here and download aswMBR. Run as administrator, scan, and pm me the logs. Do not post the logs here. Go here and download a free scan on ESET Online Scanner. Again, pm me the logs. Do not post them here. Go here and download Hijackthis. This is used to get deep into the actual process movement of your computer. Again pm me the logs. Don't post the logs here. Good luck in getting your computer back to safety. I look forward to helping you. What most people don't realize is that 99% of the time, you don't need to format your computer. Most hackers are complacent and inexperienced and it's because of that, that you can easily get your computer back to a clean computer without the hassle of either formatting your computer or installing a million things.
I would call myself experienced, but the cmd window looks simply like a help screen to me. Also, there is a Trojan out there which disguises itself as svchost.exe, which is in reality, a part of Windows. I could make something look like a cmd hack without there being any kind of actual virus.
Oh, definitely, I could too. But I'm not going to assume the guy is lieing. Even if he's banned I aim to help him if in-fact he is actually hacked.
True, but my main point was the fact that the cmd window looks incredibly like a help screen. Commands on left, what they do on the right. For example: /filealign What it does: Specifies the alignment used for output file sections Note: I completely support you helping this guy!
I did see that when I first came here, and it did raise an eyebrow, but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. It really comes down to what I find in the logs if he posts them. If he doesn't take the opportunity to actually provide the process logging outputs then I'm going to just assume that he was just yanking our chain, and coming up with some elaborate story of a hacking on his computer. Regardless, and I hate to say it mate but this is a permanent ban. Reason being: 1. The account of which you're using, and possibly your computer has been compromised. There's a very high chance that it is still compromised. (If that's the story you want to provide) 2. As I stated before, you're responsible for your account. We don't ban the player, it's not personal. We just ban the account. 3. You were banned for griefing and looting of another islands. Two very serious acts. In my honest, bias opinion, there is no motive for someone to get on your account and loot multiple islands when they can just do that themselves on their own account. It's pretty much common sense. A lot of people who break the rules on our server don't actually think it through. They break the rules in some of the most uncreative ways possible and then it just becomes a routine ban. (Not saying you guys should think of better ways to break the rules) It's just most of the time we see stuff happen is because they make it painfully obvious that they're in the wrong. 4. Just so you know, even to the most extreme extent (which is not going to be done so don't ask for it) we can check the ip of both logins of your computer and cross reference them with your ips now. I personally don't like liars, but I'm not going to go to the lengths to see if you are indeed lieing or not, because even if you weren't the ban still remains. However, I would hope that you take care with your computer if in-fact you are infected and still work with me inorder to get your account and computer safe.
Thank you for all of your help, but I will not be able to accomplish these tasks until Friday, or tomorrow because of my current location. As I have said before, I live in two separate homes and the home I am currently at does not have the computer in the photo that I have posted. I will take the opportunity to check, but just one question, how would I PM you on the forums.
You can pm a mod by starting a conversation with one. Just click their image and click "Start a conversation"
Removed: C:\WINDOWS\system32\WinDir\Svchost.exe (worm Rebhip) Though, I'm not sure if this is the same case as yours. You should check it out anyway. A-ha! Found it! The guy in the picture made a typo, he said it later on in the thread. But still, even if it IS malware, as Saint said, you failed to protect your account, and you're the only one to blame.
I was unable to have a chance to be able to cs can and send the results Friday because of a serious problem that had arose. Sorry for that, but my next chance will be around Wednesday or Thursday. Sorry for any problems or delay.
Another thing to add, I was unable to record the svchost.exe running because it was invisible in the video and I was not able to take the video and upload it because if the size requirements that my screen recorder has, sorry for any problems. I have finished the first scan for any problems. I am working on the other three.
