So a lot of people here wants "active" neighbours or some friends to be their "neighbours" so this guide will tell you how as it doesn't always work. First, make sure you and your friend(s) don't have an island and if you left your island make sure to give it to someone else by cooping them and you leaving or else when you make an island you will get the same spot as your previous island did. Second, now you and your friend(s) should create an island using /newisland at the same time. Or else it might not work. Finally, if you don't have /fly, then either type /near and it would appear that he is 100 m away from you which means he is next to your island if it says 200 m then it means he is next to the island next to you or /visit (your friend island). So now you can connect both your island if her/his' island is next to yours. P.S: I'm not sure if it works for NET.
My and Nyxa managed to buy my alt's surprisingly active neighbor's island. We now have our two shared alts next to each other.
