Remember that one time when you were trading with someone else, however nobody wanted to go first? Not anymore!

With a new trade system, it allows players to trade items simultaneously without the hassle of discussing who goes first! I believe that with this new system, it can potentially stop most scams!

This suggestion was thought of me when I had troubles with other players to see who would go first and having been scammed earlier today.

Support, I think this has been suggested before. However, there'd have to be a way to make it so that you can't trade illegal items.

No support, I don't see why it's needed and it'd probably a hassle to make/implement.

 

How is it not needed, Tons of people get scammed everyday and it is a hassle for mods to help them with no proof, or getting a refund from cyp. I cannot believe you would say this is not needed! and im starting to question if you even play skyblock because seriously people are constantly getting scammed, and I know this is a big thing to introduce to the server and would require some work to not trade illegal items however I defiantly think this is needed. Although I dont get scammed as I know what people are like now, but tons of people are getting scammed and something needs to be done about this!

There are already ways to trade without getting scammed.

Take tradeshops, for instance. Now, you can make a tradeshop which basically takes the place of the suggested plugin in that a trade can "instantaneously" take place between two people without someone having to go first. Tradeshops work for the majority of items--beacons, diamonds, spawners, grass, etc. You get the picture. I'm pretty sure everone has /kit sapling, so getting the wood for a chest and a sign should not be a problem.

On the flipside, if you're trading something that can't be traded via chestshops and you fear being scammed, then call a moderator to watch over a trade or just record it.

Once again, I don't really see the need for the plugin, so I don't support it. Why reinvent the wheel?

And to end, I do in fact play skyblock.

 

I can see where you are going with this, however this could be another way to have items traded securely. This also can have scammers trapped in a corner, because if they do not have a tradeshop open AND if they do not want to use the trade system I mentioned earlier, it's clear that they want to scam you.

In short, if someone in a trade does not want to use this system, it's a clear sign that they want to scam you.

Open to any other suggestions.

Why do you need two indicators? If they aren't willing to use a tradeshop, then you know something's up. It's most likely a scam. Additionally, you can message any moderator or donor400 to /invsee whoever you're trading with to see if he/she has the items that you intend to buy.

 

Weve had this or something similar but it was abused by dupers and illegal traders. Besides this would only be useful for rares trade or potentially to sell bulk items.

 

Yeah, maybe the staff can have it modified to not accept any illegal items in the trade, if possible.

You are right however, mods and other staff are not always online, sure they're reliable but once again they are not always online.

Overall, this system can provide additional security to what is already there. Better safe then sorry!

Well, like comments stated above, if people say no to the tradeshop there is a very good chance they want to scam you. Some tradeshop have glitches in it still, like the other day I wanted to buy 64 dark oak logs for 1 grass and I got only 12 logs :c. Also, it will have cyp not have to refund these refunds all the time. When I make trades some people have things called donation chests that are risky and I think the trade system plug-in will actually help so it can prevent scamming in lots of ways. There is a way that if you accept the trade lets say you put in 23 grass and the other person puts in a diamond. You click accept and they switch the diamond with 1 slimeball maybe? I don't know if you can switch your item giving the person if 1 of the players accepted the trade out of the 2 of them.

 

Well, it would probably detect that if an item is added/removed, they would both have to confirm again or something like that. If not, well then they will need to add that in.

EDIT:
Also with that tradeshop glitch, there should be a code in the plugin that it searches to see if there is enough of a certain item. Similar to how users can't buy the item if they do not have enough

 

Good idea to that, they would have to re confirm so there are no scams. Just saying, do you know if that comes with the plugin or if it is confirmed it has to be added? That is 1 less problem to worry about.

 

To be honest, I am not sure if it's already packaged into the plugin. If not then the Skyblock Staff may need permission to edit it in any way or request it to be added in a future update for the plugin.

 

More work for them I guess, ;c. If that is possible that is great. Hope you do well with your suggestion.
