No, this isn't a post about suggesting a reset of .net. I've just been wondering for a while if someone dissed .net and gave everyone a million beacons, diamonds, grass, etc., would the server have a reset afterwards?
Server are backed up daily. Cyp will track and trace it back to the dupers and reload the lastest backup before items are distributed
From what I can tell, not the whole server is backed up. Only the world files are; preventing island loss should something happen. Actual player files and inventory files in Essentials aren't backed up automatically. Allas, that's how it should be, considering the world saves take about 2 seconds. Correct me if I'm wrong.
yea its bsacilly just the world, so dont have any rares in your inventory while the world is backed up. You will never know what will be comming
Correct. They also don't delete contents of your Echest. You guys made my point for me, so lets's reset .NET !!! Yay !!
It's basically a map reset. So all islands wiped, and all chests on those islands wiped. The only things untouched would be your character inventory and your enderchest.
I personally don't like the idea of the reset, but since I don't play net and I don't play that often otherwise, I don't care that much
This happened a couple years ago when a group of people managed to dupe a large amount of diamonds and distributed them. It resulted in a server rollback to the previous day (I think it was something like 16 hours).
I mean, think of .org and its reset. It was pretty popular, but once the reset came the player count went down. (thx dolpinmilk for pointing this out!!!!!!!!) Probably just a rollback, considering to what happened to .org and its reset.
it technically shouldnt have to be reset, you just up the economy prices to compensate but nah, net would die if it reset tbh. all the rares gone, upgrades for items wiped, islands wiped doubt many would return.. youd have to massive overhaul adding warps, minigames, add and fix commands for me to even consider, after basically wiping everything aka giving me the finger and saying start over..
