Suggested listening: Garbage, When I Grow Up​

It is hard to judge sincerity online. There are no physical cues to work with and at any given time we could simply cut ties, walk off and become some other screen name. It's hard to trust people in that sort of environment because there are none of the normal "social handles" to grab onto. It all comes down to "How long has this particular name been around, and what have they accomplished?". In a very real way this is a meritocracy, with all of the perks and discrimination that implies.

AH hahahahaha. I have watched Game of Thrones wayyyy too often-- I instinctively read your title image as "Theoran Geaddict's Moderator Application". I am going to +1 this immediately simply for the accidental hilarious opening.

+1 for being bi-lingual. Are you conversant in Spanish yet, sir? If you cannot hold a conversation in the language you might not want to list it here-- sooner or later someone may ask you to talk with a banned player about their report. That is going to be pretty awkward if you are still in the "learning prepositions" stage of Spanish.

That opening paragraph made less sense than a fat pole vaulting champion. I apologize, Theoran-- I can't tell what you were trying to say. There was something about improving the server but then you dove straight into Moderators unable to do their jobs, quick response times(?) and how mature you are.

I can't offer any advice here because I'm not sure where you were going with this. Are you trying to suggest the current Moderators can't do a good enough job catching spammers? Were you trying to highlight how mature you are? Can you clean this up a little and stick with a consistent message? #AmConfuse

Mr. Addict I am struggling extremely hard to understand what you are trying to explain. You are friendly to people in order to make them happier before you punish them? That is neither "friendly" nor "honest"-- that is straight up passive-aggressive dictatorship.

Rewrite this. If you are highlighting how friendly you are then stick with that theme. Explain why "friendly" is a good trait for a Moderator. Talk about how being likable helps with handling players. Avoid making sudden left turns into not listening to players and punishing them. #DatWhut?

Is English your primary language?? Read this sentence out loud and then listen carefully for the sound of your language arts teacher dying of shock.

Theoran I am honestly starting to believe your application was written by a spam bot. You almost make sense often enough to pass for a human but then you suddenly begin vomiting up a thesaurus.

The best advice I can give here is to read this entire application out loud to your friend. You will identify portions that make no sense very quickly, then you can have a good laugh and fix them. Normally I suggest ways to improve but the only thing I can think of is #Whut?

I'm going to try and take this seriously for a moment, sir. You start out with a pretty good sentence, something like "I could fill in a time wherever nobody is there to moderate". Grammar issues aside, that is at least a bit understandable. You can help when no Moderators are online, I understand that.

WHY AM I EDUCATING A ROBOT.​

BUT then you wreck this thing harder than Lindsay Lohan at a substance abuse clinic: "it infuriates many individual having to be there with nobody online in-game". This is word soup, it looks like something I would read in my bowl of Alphabet cereal. Your phrasing and word choice is incredibly odd and out of context; why are you even bringing up "I have a life too and I will not always be online"?

You have disqualified yourself in your own "Active" paragraph by saying you won't be online. Rewrite this to make sense and stay on topic.

Mr. Orange, "logic" does not mean creating judgments on the spot. Likewise this trait isn't something that means you can make snap decisions in a crisis.

I think you were trying to explain how you think through decisions and make the best call you can in a situation. I'm not entirely sure, your phrasing is a little odd. I like that you try to give an example for why this quality would be important for a Moderator to have but it feels a little... muddy. Can you elaborate?

Oh, this is nicely stated. +1. Put a bit more detail here, remaining calm while handling issues is a good hallmark of middle management-- can you provide examples and a bit of explanation here? I am interested in reading more.

Oh, I may have jumped to conclusions Theoran. These last two parts were very nicely written. You need a bit more detail but at least you have provided explanations on why these qualifications make a good Moderator. Perhaps I was wrong up above here when-

I feel like this entire application is a game to see if you can put together sentences from copy/pasting out a thesaurus. What does any of this mean, sir...?

Please rewrite your qualifications. I literally cannot suggest any improvements because I do not know what you are trying to say. Where is your message? What is your intent...?

Do not disqualify yourself in your own application. "Mature: I am fairly mature, I joke around typically" made me wonder if there were any euthanasia experts I could hire in Sydney.

Rewrite this, sir. I'm not sure what "eligible educated choices" are but it probably is not what you meant to say. If you are going to list maturity as a qualification you may want to explain why this is important to a Moderator. Adding something about how you would apply yourself to common situations on the server would probably help a lot.

I honestly think you have a good point somewhere in here, Theoran. But for the life of me I can't seem to pick it out: Where are you going with all of this? You change topics in the middle of your sentences and leave me wondering what you were trying to say.

KIND OF LIKE MY "JUNK MAIL" EMAIL BOX.​

If you are going with how you've experienced betrayal in your life then stick with that theme. Talk about how trust is important to you and how you'd never stab someone in the back. Explain how Moderators should embody the idea of "trustworthiness" and why you fit this image. You need to pick a subject and focus on it here.

IS THERE A SPAM FILTER FOR APPLICATIONS?​

Please let us know when you will be online. It is nice to know you'll be available for 3 hours on Monday, but... WHEN?? Are you volunteering for the midnight to 3am shift? It is hard to "hire" you without knowing if you will be online in the morning, afternoon or evening sir.

Did you kill them? Not accusing, just asking sir. Four years as a staff member on a server is quite impressive. Were you splitting time between running another server and playing SkyBlock for the last three years? Did you quit the other server? I am interested.
