Hey guys, I have been hearing some rumors about .net being shut off because it doesn't follow the mc rules. I'm hoping that these rumors aren't true.

The 'mc rules' you are referencing are most likely the EULA. The EULA is the End User License Agreement, and this document states that you cannot have Pay to Win items on a server, in the simplest explanation. The 'rumours' you are hearing are more or less untrue. The steps Mojang will take to enforce the EULA is firstly, contacting the server owner and administrator via E-mail letting them know that if they do not change things and comply to the terms and also the conditions of the EULA, the server will be Black Listed. Secondly, if no change is made, the server will remain black listed. I don't think you have anything to worry about as the server should be going EULA compliant soon :)

EULA gives you a chance to fix the issue. I don't believe skyblock was targeted or listed as the few that were a "pay-to-win" server. The server won't be shutting down.

Black Listing servers is when a server gets put offline and warned about the EULA, and are told they need to comply to the EULA, and do not comply with it. There's a page where the list of Black Listed servers can be found though I do not have the link.

The only thing that will have to change is the donor400 item- I believe. The server wont be taken down.

List of stuff that would have to be removed for payment:

Basically, every item / perk that affects gameplay and gives you an advantage. Stuff like /kittycannon or color codes won't be affected since it's cosmetic.

Blacklisting means that mojang won't let you connect to the server through the current version of Minecraft. The server still runs but players can't access it

I have witnessed a few servers get "shut down" Really, they just need to go in and change like two commands to get it up again. Same case here if it does happen

We haven't received any emails from Mojang regarding Skyblock. Once we get an email from Mojang we will comply with EULA.

What will most likely change if or when Mojang contacts you?

As far as I know skyblock is not on the 'black listed' list.

This is something annouced by Mojang a very long time ago:

    Let's talk server monetisation!

It took almost two years to Mojang to update their EULA:

    Mojang |

    Minecraft Commercial Use

Mojang Account <--- These are the actual terms.

CypriotMerks with this very old notification being, there are few down to no chances Mojang will bother sending an E-Mail to any, set aside all Server owners. Their new Terms and Conditions are bound to the usage of the game, which is running on your Server. They are not required by swedish law to issue warnings, collecting proofs is enough, in your case a screenshot of Donate | Skyblock Forums.

Also, bear in mind Mojang belongs to Microsoft, who has had weird methods to enforce their EULA in the past.

The choice to take the risk is yours, but I get the feeling that some day we will be unable to reach your Server for at least a few days.

Pay to win? What the hell do you win on Skyblock.
You build and are creative. I'll be surprised if Mojang cares about that here.
If they do, I'll just laugh at them :D

    f*** you
