I'm required to write a 30-lined poem for English class regarding something that annoys me greatly. As a person who tends to get annoyed relatively quickly, you'd think this wouldn't be a difficult task, but I'm not coming up with anything in particular that'll be sufficient. So my question to you all, what's on your list of pet peeves? Hopefully I'll gather enough information and steal one that'll work well for a poem :]
People who try to be a smart aleck. People who walk slowly in public. (like the mall, etc.) People who just stop in the middle of the sidewalk, etc. People who disagree with you generally because they dislike you. People who chew with their mouth open. Backstabbers. People who get mad if something doesn't go their way. Really loud people. People who do anything for attention. People who try to be cool but come off as dumb. And tons more I can't be bothered to add. I get annoyed way too easily.
When people try to joke with you by calling your name repeatedly even though they got your attention When you have to answer the same question over and over (for example if you have an injury. I'm a hypocrite though so welp). When your friends literally backstab right in front of you. When your parents call your name and you say "Yeah?" and they don't respond. So, you would have to get up and go to them. lol.
I have a long list, hopefully this helps if you find one you like. people who leave nah that s***'s too serious I don't like when people add a u sound to words that don't have it Ex: please turning into puh-lease when people spit sunflower seeds into a water bottle. Or spit sunflower seeds at all honestly. That is a private food, or an outdoor food.
People who are wrong annoy me. People who are wrong but think they're right annoy me. People who are right but have wrong grammar annoy me. People who are wrong but have right grammar annoy me. People who are wrong and have wrong grammar annoy me the most. People who are right and have right grammar annoy me more. People who are right when I am wrong annoy me. Anyone who isn't a friend annoy me therefore people are my pet peeve. Essentially a brighter was of saying the above.
Any small repetitive noise just barely audible, but distinct. Examples are smacking of lips, chewing loudly in general, popping of gum, clicking of pen, tapping on a desk, bracelets swinging back and forth, when people try to whisper and all you hear are their S sounds, when people try to mouth out words and you hear their saliva sloshing around in their mouth, when a chair squeaks, when you stir macaroni or something like that and it makes a sticky kind of sound, the crinkling of bags, when people open food in class with that annoying tin foil on it... My life sucks lol
