Super Moderators have permission to handle staff reports. If the staff report is valid and severe enough then it's given to Cyp to handle.
yea I know but still at what point is it going to be severe and valid enough? It's for the staff team to decide that and of course they are going to be biased.
I've made staff reports in my past. Really unless you contact Cypriot about it and talk to him one on one and explain the situation, nothing will happen. Staff reports in general aren't taken seriously, even with hard evidence, usually the staff team gangs up on you. You're likely to get forum banned, which is unfair. EDIT: My advice is create a conversation with CypriotMerks here on the forums, with an important title. Make sure you use good grammar, and aren't insulting anyone, and explain your situation appropriately. He will help you.
Most of my public staff reports are mainly for drama. If I legitimately believe a staff member should be demoted, Stel and I bring the issue to Cypriotmerks.
Just to clarify the point... There are plenty of threads on the forums about how to make a good staff report, and these are largely ignored. Often these threads are made in the heat of the moment over trivial things which can be resolved through a simple PM conversation. Now that we've set the backdrop for what goes on, please note: _ALL_ staff reports are taken seriously by staff members. Which is more than I can say for 90% of players creating the report. Reports like "OMG the mod muted me for 2hrs I want them demoted" are so silly and superflous that often times they don't progress further than a "Thank you for your report, but No". I'll also note that unless a staff member does something to delibrately undermine the server, or abuses their power severely in a way that causes harm to the server, or does something to severely call into question their trustworthyness as a mod, they will NOT get demoted. So stop trying with all the "demote them for kicking me" reports. In the case where a staff member's behaviour needs to be altered, they're often told so through various means that may or may not include the actual report itself. Private Messages, in-game Staff Chat, and staff meetings are just a few of those avenues. The reason? It's often easier to communicate through verbal exchange rather than writing a lengthy paragraph. Also, realtime communication gives the opportunity for staff members to clarify the exact nature of the issue. So please don't assume that just because you haven't read anything that nothing has happened. Hope this has cleared up some confusion around the matter.
tbh that's actually so true. Not going to use names, but several times mods have gotten reported for stuff through the forums, and the staff reports would get rejected. Then someone sends Cyp pretty much the same report, and then the mod gets demoted. If that doesn't tell you the current system is broken idk what will. Since when are there staff meetings lol. You can't get everybody together at once; we can barely get 5 mods online at one time.
I Think that mods should be banned if they are doing evil things to other people. Also I think that they should be demoted if you got proof and no higher advantage, just because they are mod
Ok so staff get various command. INCLUDING /kick. /kick is a STAFF COMMAND. By using /kick when it is not needed is staff abuse as I said above it is a staff command so they are abusing the commands they have as a staff member. How isn't that staff abuse?
lol tbt Staff reports are looked at, yes, and taken seriously, yes. The problem is the judges are not on your side. It's like if the government breaks the law - who are you going to cry to, the government? I find that most of the time it's just best to keep your mouth shut, avoid the person, and hope that things die down. What else can you really do? ;/
If Cypriot's involved, maybe. If its only the staff team, never. Usually, the mod who gets reported gets tagged. then he/she explains why he/she "abused" his/her powers, then locks the thread. So i don't think they consider staff reports
