Now that was a drive. Wow. We ramped a minivan off the highway at 74mph today. Plowed through the median, up the other side and made a perfect landing onto a one-lane county road. After that, reviewing job applications seems... relaxing. That may be the Xanax talking. Either way, looking forward to giving this a read-through. Nice to meet you Ms. Sun. I'm sensing a theme on your names, are you a big fan of the big ol' yellow guy in the sky? UTC-7 for the non-'Muricans among us. The phrasing on this greatly amused me, but in a good way. +1 for unrelated reasons, don't change anything. I am more confused than a cactus in a bouncy castle. I am really curious now: Do you have to list bans for things that are no longer against the rules? +1 for honesty, I'm interested in the answer to this question. As a recent graduate of the Minivan Flight School, I can tell you without a doubt this will be the high-light of my evening. Liking the enthusiasm, Ms. Sun. But that's a lot of "is" wording: Did you mean to say something like "really active on the server and I would like to help out"...? Ouch. You probably didn't mean to point out that the current Moderators are not doing a good job, Sunneh. Perhaps rephrasing slightly? "I'm interested in helping Moderate in my timezone" instead of suggesting there's no staff available and rampant rule abuse? This is actually quite good, but think about moving this portion up into your introduction. There's no "content" here that answers the question Why do you think you should be a mod? I have a slight headache now. I see what you're trying to say, Ms. Sun: You're a friendly person and you want to build a community of people who get along with each other. Unfortunately you're not coming across very clear. Grab a friend and read this paragraph out loud to them. You will probably spot a couple of issues that sound odd. In particular it sounds weird when you say you'll try to be kind to people and not rude. You're only going to try to be kind? This was probably accidental. Please take a look at your "there" and "their" usage. I'm not entirely sure these are used incorrectly... but more than likely they are. That's an interesting definition of "maturity". I'll have to think about that for a bit. Does maturity really come down to being able to explain yourself to anyone that has a problem with you? I might be wrong on this one but generally speaking maturity just always seemed to be one of those things that was obvious. We don't get into immature arguments to begin with; likewise we don't bother explaining actions that are thoughtful and correct. Leave this part in if you like, it won't hurt. You may even be entirely correct and I am just way off base, my comments are pretty worthless. This is very nice. But why do you need a [Mod] in front of your name to do these things, Sunneh? You seem to be doing just fine without any special powers. Please give an example of how being a Moderator would make you more helpful. +1 immediately: You've listed a quality ("Observant") that I've never seen listed before in an application. Nicely done. Please correct your use of "is" instead of "are" in your sentences. You have good content; I understand what you're trying to say, but the is/are thing is giving me migraines. Can you give an example of how being a Moderator would make you better able to answer questions about islands and forums? Most Moderating seems to be 2- or 3-word replies and a huge dose of common sense. I'm not sure typing fast is a requirement but I suppose it cannot hurt. I disagree with you regarding your grammar, Ms. Sun. Your message is pretty clear but there are some serious concerns related to how you're wording sentences. Go back over your application and read it out loud-- you might spot some odd phrases here and there. Home schooled. Not a bad thing, Ms. Sun. When you have a chance please add when you will be available onto your schedule. Will you be online for 2 hours starting at... midnight? Will you be working four hours in the morning? We need to know when you'll be available for the job to hire you. Did you kill it? Not accusing, just asking ma'am. Why are you trading over to this server? What were your duties at the other server? Were you head PR manager, or did you build cave displays? (I have no idea what Mods do, sorry). You're quite welcome, Sunny Smiles. Nicely written, worth the read. Best of luck in the future. Thank for the feedback! I will read through this and fix up the issues you discussed in the review. Btw I don't have a list of bans of things that are no longer against the rules lol.
