Nvm, i Learn that you can't. Is that why 1 obsidian equals 1 grass? And how do you get obsidian now?

You can't make obsidian generators. That is why it is 1 obsidian for 1 grass.

I usually sell one stack of carrots, melons, or pumpkins for one grass and 16 apples for 1 grass.

Also, you can sell flint. It's not illegal to trade, buy, or sell.

I thought it was illegal. Also, the other day, when I was missing 2/3 of my sand, a donor traded me 2 red snad in replacements with 2 grass and 1 iron ingot. He also said that he asked a mod if it was ok if that donor traded me 2 red sands, and the mod said yes, but now I am not so sure... I know sand is illegal to trade, but red sand? Especially when a donor asking a mod and the mod replied yes. So is it ok for me to keep the sand or no? I only have 3 sand, 1 regular and 2 red on my island.

How much is a stack of feathers? And what about strings, spider eye, gunpowder, bones, and other stuff that mobs drop?

I apologize sir, I don't browse the forums very often and missed your original post. Here is the .Net economy spreadsheet, the second tab has real-world equivalency values. You can trade for anything you like (of course), but those are the best value exchanges I can find based on things like "actual time to collect this resource". Hover your mouse over the "?" next to the trade values to see what they are based on.

There is also a heck of a good discussion on this thread, Frederic in particular makes some pretty good points on economic movements.

Best of luck in the future, Mr. Nixate.

    Thanks!
Someone said sand PLUS red sand is illegal to trade. Guess they're wrong but just normal sand is illegal then.

    64 Cobblestones for 1 Grass - I'd say 3-4 stacks for 1 grass
64 Wood Planks for 1 Grass - I'd also say 3-4 stacks for 1 grass
64 Leather for 1 Grass - Probably not even worth a grass. Maybe 3-4 stacks are
64 Snowblocks for 1 Grass - That's usually what I sell it for
    64 Bones for 1 Grass - I'd say 1-3 stacks for 1 grass
16 Obsidian for 1 Grass - obby gens aren't here anymore, so they're about 1-2 for each
64 Spider Eye for 1 Grass (maybe?) - Probably accurate
64 Strings for 1 Grass (maybe?) - I'd also buy this for 1 grass
64 Wool for 1 Grass - Yes, usually every color as well
    64 Steak/PorkChop/Cooked Chicken for 1 Grass - I'd say a few stacks would be 1 grass
64 Feather for (I don't know how much are they worth.) - Same as the leather
    32 Stalk for 1 Grass (maybe?) - I'd say 2-3 stacks
1 Grass for Iron Ingot - 3/4 iron ingots for 1 grass
1 Banner for 1 Grass (maybe and depends on how much the material/design?) - 1-3 usually, and really rare banners are more expensive
1 God Item for 1 Grass - I'd say it depends on the item. If it's a regular item, just the same. If it's a rare, it probably depreciates the value.

    Pumpkins - 1 stack for a grass I'd say
    Apples - I'd say maybe 16-32 for 1 grass
Melons - Blocks or slices? Slices would be 3-4 stacks for 1-2 grass, or 32 blocks for 3-4 grass
    Carrots - Probably 64-128 for 1 grass

    Question answered? :p
Also, could you reply within 24 hours? c:

This lines up pretty well with the spreadsheet, I am a little surprised. You're a little low-- especially on cobblestone-- but everything else is in the ballpark.

How did you arrive at these numbers, Lemonade? "Common knowledge" or trial and error...?

I followed this thread with interest.

What I get from it is confirmation that the price range for one item can be quite big. So many players, so many prices, almost. This tends to confirm my theory of a bronze age barter economy. No one has knowledge of the true price for anything. You can tell one price, one customer will deem you crazy for this exorbitant price, the next one will buy your stock and thank you thoroughly. Of course, the more people you know, the more low prices you get to encounter. I have a Book & Quill where I take note of the cheapest seller encountered for each item. For some items, I dare to ask cheaper price, maybe because I have a better production unit, IDK. IMHO it has also something to do with the value personally attributed to Grass. Paradoxally, non-voting greenbeans, who should deem Grass much more worth than high level donors, tend to ask higher prices. But I think this can be attributed to the lack of commercial contacts. They haven’t seen really low prices yet.

To the OP: By asking “what are the prices”, you assume that there is some kind of stock exchange, where median prices can be looked after. This is not the case. There are no “correct prices”. Of course there are prices that give you more chances to sell (if you advertise them on chat). But you eventually sell everything. I lately was astonished someone left Grass behind in a chest on my island where 32 cactus where offered for one grass. I don’t produce much cactus so my prices are quite high. Yet I found customers for this (well they found me). Of course if I was producing a DC every day, I would consider lowering the price.
