Hi all. mojang has updated Minecraft to 1.9. I think that skyblock should upgrade soon. A lot more people are liking 1.9 and are getting to know it. I personally think Skyblock needs an upgrade! Mojang released 1.9 for a lot more than just to do to do random Java coding! They want to give players a better time and I think that players should be able to enjoy this update, 1.9 on servers! But one question, what does it take for this awesome server to upgrade to 1.9?

 

Hello Ayden, the reason why skyblock does not support 1.9 features is because all the plugins on the server need to be updated to suit 1.9 in order to have the server work correctly.

 

As dustandrust said, the plugins need to be updated, as this can usually take anywhere up to around 7 months (from what I remember when the server switched to 1.8). I would just say to be patient, as plugins need to be updated for the server to work properly in 1.9

 

Also, being able to push other players (off an island for example) would cause major problems. Cyp needs to know all those small 'exploits' before he can actually update the server, otherwise it'd create drastic problems.

 

So not until Cyp and Noob find fixes for certain things.

 

Yes, I learned about the plug-ins and 1.9 player can still push player off of the island, but I know nothing about plug-ins, so yeah....

Well they still have to fix bugs from 1.8 they had.

 

Since 1.9 came out not too long ago, Skyblock should give everything time to update because mostly everything is still in 1.8.

 

Most of their plugins are most likely in 1.8, be patient as they update. I'm sure they will update to 1.9 one day.

 

Truthfully, all we have to wait for is the plugins to update. Players pushing others off or other 1.9 exploitable features can be easily disabled with a couple lines of code thrown into the server config, or a short plugin that doesn't take too long to write.

 

Yeah, well right now if two players are in 1.9 they can push them around and 1.8 player and push 1.9 players around so they should get to that quickly

Nope don't see why we need to reset! Like a shield, why whould we need that? For /ma j? It's not fair then. New mobs? God it's disabled for natural spawning and it can't spawn out of spawners becuse some mobs are disabled. New heads? It's illegal if it's not an offical skyblock head for example a creeper,skeleton, zombie and ender dragon for 1.9 (If this is .net then the creepers and zombies and skeleton are allowed

 

It's not going to reset the servers lol. What will happen is rather you joining on a 1.8 version, you just use 1.9. That us the only thing that will change, unless something happens where a reset is needed, the in that case it is possible.

 

Like everyone said plugins need to update, and plus 1.9 has so many armor and stuff I think, it's not gonna really benefit the game.
