Hello players of the Skyblock servers,

as you probably are aware, there is an issue where the console bans a player for flying. Although this does not seem like an issue, through the ignorance of many other suggestion threads that are about this it has become one. Now, with newer server updates we can see that most of the time the bans are false and create confusion. (See Report | Skyblock Forums) There are many easy fixed for this, and once again they will be listed in the suggestions section with the hope that the administrators will read and fix this issue. There is a list of possible fixes down bellow. Rather than giving a supporting or not-supporting to this post because you agree/disagree with 50% of them or agree/disagree with one, I'd suggest you qoute the following section and leave feedback on your views through a comment.

Lists of possible fixes (Can be combined)

  • Remove the feature that the console can ban people for flying.

Possible alternative(s): Install a new plugin (which people aren't very fond of) to catch flying players or replace the ban with a short(er) ban. Remove the flying catching completly

  • Change the ban message.

Possible alternative(s): Changing the ban message to "The server has temporarily banned you for flying. If you believe this is a false ban, please appeal at Skyblock Forums"

  • Server contacting online staff

This means: The console gives an alert to online staff through a message in the direction of: "Hello, I think <playername> is flying. Please check it out". Then the staff members could decide in staff chat who checks out the situation.

Nice suggestions,I fully agree on the altered message when I first joined back and got this message I literally made a thread asking players about this. I also agree on how the server should contact mods on a player getting console banned and on the new plugin idea.

 

Btw, there is no "getting banned" by console for flying in ORG. There is something called temp ban for spam when you spam the /enchant command to enchant many items (Like DC of swords) ;-;. And support.

I can't imagine this hasn't been discussed in the staff Meetings, yet no staff has ever brought an explanation as to why this broken plugin is still working the same way. I'm sure cyp is loosing many starting Players with this, as it is mostly noobs who tend to fall off their Island (there are also other Triggers to that bug than falling, but it's the main one). It's getting worse with lag getting more frequent.

Please, staff, could you explain why this noob-frustrating, player-chasing plugin is still working as it is or, if there ain't no fix to it, still working at all? It may ban a real hacker every once in a while, sure, but I don't think it's any near of the majority. Krissy Lemonade Kerahna

The problem with console ban is that you could technically fly hack and get away with it.
