The word "d!ck" is apparently offensive. What if someones name is in real life D!ck? that is a NAME. Recently someone named "D!ck" got TEMPBANNED. This is a serious issue as that is a widespread english name. Please resolve this. By making this thread, I want the moderators and community to come up with a solution.

I asked myrm and Maisaaa but got kicked repeatedly with no explanation whatsoever. In the end I got kicked for asking what bad word I said with no indication why I was getting kicked. (kickmsg: stop argueing please) I never used D!ck in an offensive way, indicating my question purpose (look bellow)

their name is natively richard, thats a shortening of the name.. MAYBE, rarely its a name, but ive never seen it.
but if we uncensor it, everyone will abuse it and you KNOW that noone will mean richard when they say it.
its supposed to be a pg server (still hate that) so that word, along with a ton of others... except A$$ last i checked (odd, ehh? they will still temp ban you for that one too)

When I was young I listened to CD's and Audiobooks (The famous 5 for example) where people where called D!ck. I know several people in real life aswell.

You were probably kicked for bypassing the filter, even if to make a point. I personally had a great uncle named d***. That was his full first name.

D*** is a very unusual name to have. Unless people are doing it for fun etc. Richard is the name for it really. (I am sorry if I offended you but I did warn up above)

The word is censored because people do not use it for the shorter version of Richard they use it for derogatory name calling.

It can be a nickname or name but as I said the filter blocks out the word so it's not allowed as a /nick. It's mostly used as an insult or another word for p****.

Here's what I have to say:

D*** is a name; however some people use it as a derogatory word. It's also another word for the male genitalia, which to some is offensive. But to me, I don't really care if someone called me a d***, it's just a male genitalia to me and I don't see it as an insult whatsoever.

I think someone asked why a** isn't censored. It was uncensored due to many words having that part in it. It got really annoying having a ";)/;}" in the middle of a word with a** in it. Due to popular demand, it was removed.

tl;dr d*** is censored because people use it as an insult and people take offence to it.
