Well in most cases those kinds of bans are short as people say sorry, forgive, and forget.

-_- people 5+ grieifing, in one day, on my server that would be automatic BAN. 1 griefing, becuase of a resonable cause, would get a ban, but if they appealed and had vaild reason to why they did it, I would lesson the scentence to 2 weeks.

My point is that if we do use your system, people who grief constantly will be unbanned in a short period of time in which is unacceptable.

So many of you just jump on the bandwagon with the fact that donors should be treated like normal players (non-donors), but the reality of it is that they are NOT regular players. They have given you their money and, therefore, time. If you are worth this much time and effort, they deserve a bit more respect than non-donors.
    I'll give you a situation:

Non-donor goes around scamming people. He gets banned. He appeals and is unbanned due to his pleading.
Donor goes around scamming people. He gets banned. He appeals and is unbanned due to his pleading.

Now, there's a difference between these two types of pleading. The pleading of the donor is more sincere since they are losing their own property in the process. They realize that there is a monetary loss by breaking these rules. To the non-donors, it's just another server. If they get banned, they shrug it off and move onto the next one.

Donors respect the server enough to give it their money, so they should be treated with a bit more respect. I realize that they can't just disregard the rules entirely, but there is more of an inclination to act appropriately with money invested in the server. They wouldn't want to lose their money, whether for personal reasons or not.

And don't flip on me just because we share a different opinion. You guys are famous for doing that. >.<

Sleepy I agree with your motives, but not your reasons.
If a donor does go around scamming people, It shows that they have disprespect, mulltiple people as well. If your saying that donors care about the server, why would they risk getting banned? I do think that if It was just 1 instince, yes I agree with you completly. If its say 2 or 3 instinces, its neglection to the rules

im not saying to use my system, it was merly a mold of what I think, my views. Bottom line, 1st offense, FOR DONORS, shouldn't get a perm ban. They can learn

The example might not have been a good one, but the main point was that the non-donor and the donor commited the same crime. The donor might have made a simple mistake and will understand that if it happens again, they lose their money. The reason why many ban appeals are from donors and not all non-donors appeal is because the non-donors have no obligation to appeal. They gain nothing from it except access to a server they don't care about. If they get banned, oh well, they'll move to a different server, but the donor cares enough to have donated to help the server. Even if they donated just for the benefits, they wouldn't want to lose their money over a stupid mistake.

Also, the disrespect here is not towards the server, but to other people. Once they get it through their minds that the server won't tolerate it, they'll stop.

Ah thank you sleepy thats another point I forgot to bring up, donations HELP the server, without the donors, whos gonna help? people that make simple mistakes like scamming once, are the same people that allow the server to be up and running, non-donors, and noobcrew should be glad that people care enough about the server that they'll donate.

No, a lot of donors don't 'truly' care about the server. They're after perms and items. You hurt your own point by trying to suggest that you should get more leniency.

Most people do learn their lesson, hence why people get unbanned. You yourself were reduced to a 1 week temp for your first offense.
If they're having an argument on the server and cursing, then obviously they need to be banned to get them off the server where little kids play. Heck, one of the mods is only 9 years old. If they're banned for something like scamming or language, chances are they'll get unbanned. The only reason they get a permanent ban for stuff like that is to make sure that they appeal and understand why they shouldn't do it, then get reduced to a tempban. If it stays permanent, it's only because they gave further proof that they don't want or deserve to be unbanned.
Again, they spent their money to donate. If they're making mistakes, its THEIR fault. Also, they make that mistake and GET A CHANCE TO APPEAL. The appeals are used to teach them WHY what they did was wrong so they don't do it again. If they're getting banned for a simple mistake and staying banned it is, again, because they gave some reason as to why they shouldn't be unbanned. You want to help? Don't do the crime in the first place! Honestly, we get so many problems caused by players within an hour, let alone the whole day, that some of us don't even like to get on simply because we know there's going to be griefs, scams, looting, bridging, language, spam and more going on. So again. You want to help? Read the rules, don't break the rules. I prefer a greenbean who never breaks a rule over a 100 donor who likes to scam people, or grief, or whatever else.

That's my rant then. TL: DR? Shortened version: No support. Donors shouldn't get extra leniency, as they should know the risks. Do the crime, do the time. If you want another chance, you appeal sincerely. Easy enough. Chances are, unless you've done more in the past or are uncooperative or disrespectful, you'll get unbanned.

sigh* not that the consequneces from the donors point of view, from YOUR point of view, you lose money when u ban donors, donors keep the server up. thus, they deserve lienency

There's no money lost when donors get banned, as its a donation, so there's no refund for it. They already donated.
Donors do keep the server up, hence why they're given perms and items AS A THANK YOU. This entire thread is equivalent to asking for more perms for donors for a gift they gave to the server.
*Edit* It's like if you donate to a charity and they send you a gift basket as a thank you, then you send a complaint that the basket wasn't good enough ._.

I'm not, im asking for lienency for when they do screw up, BECUASE they donated money. Think about it, people spend 25$ on minecraft, the game. People have donated 250 dollars. people have given money to a server, cause they love it. If I had a server, and someone donated 5$, that would make my day, I cant uderstand why you dont see the same thing I see, these people love this server, and when they get banned (especially for little things) there heartbroken.

You basically are. You're asking for a special permission to have leniency when you've done something you shouldn't.
When they truely care about the server, and if they get banned, then they appeal and explain that they're really sorry, and we unban them. Same with a greenbean. We might make them wait to get on the server a few days or more (to make sure they understand it's wrong), but they still get on. If they break other rules, we tend to stop believing that they're actually sorry.
