I have no idea if I should post this under Apeals, Help or Suggestions. Probably all of them.

The Ban Hammer has been very talkative to me lately. He speaks for the second time this evening because I fell off a high platform and moved while falling. So he thought I was flying and banned me for 30 minutes. This may not seem much, but it is 30 minutes of my time I am able to spend on skyblock. I should not move while falling? Well if I am expanding, walking backwards while placing blocks, and suddenly falling, I barely have the time to remove my finger from ▼ that I am banned.

Is there any way to make the console pick more wisely who to ban? To have it tell apart falling from flying? I mean, this cannot be so difficult! If my Y coord is lowering like over 20 units a second, this cannot be flying, for god's sake!

EDIT: apparently the fact of moving while falling is irrelevant. Only condition seems to be: there must be only air around when falling. I doesn't happen when falling alongside a pillar of any Kind (could be water, Stone etc...).

 

Console is not the best when it comes to catching fly hackers, let me tell you that. :f

 

I just got banned again, this time I didn't move while falling. I didn't have the time to type in /home . Is this some kind of weird incentive to buy oneself /fly?

 

I can tell you this is not a weird incentive to influence players to buy /fly. When the console bans a player for 30 minutes it is because it thinks the player is fly hacking. When the console falsley bans a player it is usually due to the server lag.

 

If it happens during lag, you can always confront a mod about it and see if they'll unban you

 

Well the time a mod gets on with it I'm unbanned. And it didn't happen during lag. This should really get fixed. 30 minutes is a looong time on my spare evening.

It's fine that they accept the Appeal, althoug this is not alway the case. It's a hassle to have to Appeal, and it spares you 15 minutes of ban from the 30', if ever.

Apparently it is even forbidden for non-donors, donor10 and donor 25 to appeal on this because it can only be proven to be an error when it's donor50 and above, only ones to have /fly. It has been accepted on occasions since the Server is quite glitchy these days so it happens often.

This is quite an Understatement. I have seen rows of blocks I just placed dissapear before my eyes, which would have gotten me another ban if I was standing on them at that moment.

If there is any concern, please give us a sign something, so we know we're not left alone. CypriotMerks , I know your attention has already been drawn on this issue.

Apparently it doesn't happen if we are falling alongside a wall, because this is how I always go from one platform to another, by "falling", sometimes quite deep, on slimeblock or into water, and I never get banned on These occasions. It only happens when falling when there is only air around me. Then it doesn't matter if I am moving while falling or not.

But you can always pm them, you don't have to make an appeal. If there is a huge wave of lag and a bunch of people get banned, then moderators with the command /unban will try to unban all who got banned during that wave of lag.

This is nice but only palliating the symptoms and the time until a mod reacts is still lost (no critics on the response time here, you mods are awesome )

 

Yea, I completely understand. I wish that instead of a 30 minute ban it was just a kick. The kick is implemented on Skywars, so I see no reason to have it be just there. I would love to see it on net and org.
