I have played on skyblock.net for years and have fallen off of a platform many times, I quickly save my life by typing "/spawn" to warp to the spawn. The spawn is a no-damage zone and never damaged me or killed me from fall damage ever before. Unfortunately today was the day that I for some reason died of fall damage. My items were dropped and collected by members surrounding the spawn, those items including at least half a stack of grass, a mob spawner I wore as a /hat, around 20 voter keys, the following godded items: Stick, Diamond Pick, Diamond Sword, Diamond Axe, Diamond Spade, Iron Hoe, Iron Boots, Iron Leggings, etc. (more that I forgot).

Now, I know that wasn't very much items as others have had much more expensive than that. And I also know that this is a role-play type server and if you were to fall a high distance you would have a major chance of dying like I did, but the reason I fell in the first place wasn't a type of role-play manner because I teleported to someones island using the /visit (playername) command. Infront of me was a parkour-type path to get to his/her banner shop, which I fell down and used the "/spawn" command to warp me to the spawn. I was blatantly angered that I died in an area I had supposedly thought was safe.

I confronted a Super Mod about my mistake and was informed that the server does not repay any items lost from deaths. I totally see why the admins do not repay items as they would be paying out of their own items. But surely enough they can add a command that would set mod's+ to creative or something just to retrieve at least a couple of the victim's "worthy" items.

This is a very legitimate thread and I am not coming up with any of this just because I want items. I have proof of items from at least a couple SkyGod's and some Donor's.

 

I feel for you. I really do. But I've never trusted the supposedly safe areas. I used to maintain a safe /home, before I got access to /God.
I wish you luck, though. It does seem pretty unfair that you died there in the first place.

 

For awhile now you've been able to take fall damage from doing /spawn whilst falling. Just do /is or /home in the future. You can either put water there, or if you don't and die it's no big deal.

 

You can put water on your island's spawn. That way you will not take any fall damage when you do /home.

 

Thanks for the help guys, really. It's just so unfortunate that I lost so much items that I value. Ill restart with my trusty banner shop and 5 diamonds and climb my way back to the currency I once had.

Well instead of going to great lengths to suggest that moderators should have creative, the owners could just disable death at /spawn like it used to be. Although this is really a survival server, I understand where you are coming from.
