Love the in game name. Eastern what? What is Bosnian? I've heard of English and Spanish. That's good. Isn't that what everyone says? That's really kind, but helping doesn't mean with island help. Helping could be as little as answering a question. I hope so. Nice to hear, remember you cannot please everyone. You don't have to donate to be a moderator. Just saying. As much as we all have lives, I think this is too little time. Was it one of those cheap ones that crashed too much? Just asking? earsofjoy: It would mean lots to everyone. How long have you been playing, may I ask? Also no support, application has too little detail. Come on /economy sometimes too and we can chat. Good luck.
Great start, but I'm not convinced that you're comfortable around the forums hence why you're a new member. Try working on getting more stabilized around here. As for the application, it could use more work. I see minor grammatical errors and irrelevant details. Fix these issues and add more information to confront that you're ready for the position as a staff member. As for now, no support but I will check back later to see improvement.
No support. Haven't seen you online before, so I've not known of your behavior. You're also new to the forums, so go around and help in different sections, or meet some peeps. Your application lacks detail, I suggest adding your qualifications/traits. Good Luck.
No support, sorry. Read the comments and take the advice. You just need to add detail and more info and it will be spot on. Nevertheless, Good luck!
Nala Ok thanks a lot i'll try for more detail. what area especially lacks detail or is it the whole thing
Apps. Apps never change. I am a little delirious from driving more than 3100 miles (5000Km) in the last five days, pardon me for any errors. I'm just looking to relax a bit after all that. Here's hoping this application turns out well. Let's get to it. Someone tell Codsworth I'm heading out hunting synths again. Nice to meet you, Vanilla Sky. Tom Cruise gives you two enthusiastic thumbs up for your clever naming choice. Well done. The Far East? Eastern Russia? Eastern St. Louis? East of Eden? I am fairly sure you meant to say "Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5)", sir. But it isn't a good thing to already be slacking off on responses by the second question. +1 to you sir: That is quite impressive. I haven't met a native Serbian linguist since... oh, nevermind. We appreciate all of the details, George R.R. Martin. However the "Ban Hammer" stuff probably doesn't need to be mentioned; the SkyBlock server occasionally gets drunk and starts kicking people out like a racist nightclub bouncer. Full marks for brutal honesty but you can probably shorten your reply to just: "No." I am more excited than a tornado in a trailer park. Let's do this, make it worth the time to read. Congratulations on discovering the Punctuation Graveyard. This is where commas go to die. I am having severe difficulties reading this portion of your application, sir. You have a near-total lack of grammar and I cannot tell where your message is going at any one time. I highly recommend you separate this text blob into smaller, more easily-read paragraphs. I'll attempt to break this up a bit and reply to each portion: You enjoy the server, community and... the community? Please rephrase this slightly so it does not sound so bizarre. I am also giving the word "positivity" a little bit of the old #WTFsquint, I am aware that is a real word but it feels slightly misplaced. Did you mean to say something like "how positive [the community] is"? Is that you, Ephialtes..? I'm not quite sure how observing what you personally need helps with learning to be a better Moderator. Did you mean to say something like "I have experienced a lot of the same problems as other players and I know how Mods resolve it"? You want to get the /kick, /mute and /ban commands so you can be nice to others? I'm starting to wonder what exactly people think administrators do with their time. If you just want to be nice to people, fix their lost items and answer questions you don't need any special position or authority. #JustDoIt But if you need someone kicked, muted, banned or punished-- now that is what a Moderator is for. These are not nice things and (generally) don't make people happy. Unless they're masochistic. Go fly that kite, Charlie Brown. You don't need Moderator powers to listen to others, test their Trade Shops, answer their questions or give out directions. Just do it! Remove this section or reword it to explain how you could do all of this better if you could possibly ban them after giving directions. Or something like that. This is entirely true but it doesn't help your application sir. You can answer questions just fine without a [Mod] prefix on your name. I would suggest a rewrite to elaborate on how you could explain SkyBlock better to new players if you could also tempban them. Good luck. #LoLz ur team sucks can i join u? Alright there, Teamwrecker Timothy. I appreciate you taking some time out of your application to point out how Mods aren't helping people fast enough. However, have you considered perhaps you're not seeing the entire picture? Imagine you are picked for Moderator tomorrow(!) and join the server. You notice immediately it's a pretty good night and there are four hundred people online. Now let's guess that out of all those knuckle-dragging block breakers a small percentage.... 2% maybe?... have questions or problems. That's eight people instantly demanding your attention. Someone is going to have to wait for you. And while they're waiting would you like to bet they will complain you're not helping fast enough? Highly suggest you take a moment to revise this section so it doesn't sound like you're pushing the current Moderator team into a wood chipper. If you actually do get selected for Mod some of those people might remember you said they weren't doing a good job. Oh and +1 for "assassistance". It's like "assassin" crossed with "assistance": I can help you die, fool! Seriously though: Spell check your job application, sir. Why is the sense always gone? You've lost me harder than a brony at a cosplay competition. I think you were trying to explain that you understood the punishment guidelines for bad behavior... but then you took a shortcut through Insanity Mountain to start talking about helping people falling off islands. Did you copy and paste this from somewhere else by accident, sir? Please revise. To save my sanity I'm going to start numbering these for easier reference-- I'm losing track of where I am on this Mt. Everest of Exposition. This does not require Mod powers to accomplish. Cool story, thank you for helping others. The phrase "have never or will never" made me scream in horror. Please correct this entire sentence, sir. You will abide by the rules to abide by the rules...? What? This application is my new official drinking game for the evening. I'm going to take one drink for missing punctuation, two drinks for an incorrectly spelled word and a shot for every sentence without a subject. This paragraph alone was five gulps of Jack & Coke. Addressing the numbered items: This is called "maturity" and you are a good person. +1 to you, sir. "Many people cuss and I will do"? Are you going to cuss at the children...? Please rephrase this. Giving items away does not require you to be a Moderator. Eliminate this or revise. Sometimes you just have to let it go, Vanilla. It's not your responsibility to make everyone happy. You are not a vending machine. Gaining Moderator will not grant you the /repair command (???) and fixing everyone's stuff is not something Mods are required to do. I'm going to go on a limb here: If you have time as a Moderator to run around spam-fixing tools for everyone then you're probably ignoring a lot of actual, urgent business. "Desicion" sounds like an abandoned idea for a line of Transformer toys. Please spell-check your job application. You do not need to point out how you will avoid racism and stereotyping. We already assume you won't be openly disrespecting people based on race/gender/etc-- going out of your way to explicitly list something like that is bizarre. I'd recommend removing that, Vanilla. As a follow up: Moderators are not required to be kind. Strict enforcement of rules and iron-fisted application of punishment guidelines is the requirement. "Kindness" is a nice thing to have, but utterly unnecessary. Post. A. Schedule.... Please. Or at least give a rough idea, something like "I can be online about 4pm on weekdays for around 2 hours". How can you join the Mod team when nobody knows when they can expect you to help out? Please PM me the exact details, sir. I am highly interested and willing to learn. Thank you for your post, sir. Your application has definitely turned this into an exceptional evening. I can tell you typed a lot of this as quickly as you could, a lot of your statements repeat each other or go sideways into banana I sure do like ice cream and my dog. I would highly recommend you go back through this, separate your text into more easily-read portions and check your content a bit to make sure your points are being made clearly. And for the love of everything holy in this world please spell check your application. Good luck to you, sir. Support Status: Desicions! Transform and Roll Out!
Myrmidous sorry about the grammar and the hard to understand details. I'll try to fix it and clean up the application. But not at the moment, I'm busy right now (Oh and it was really bad cuz I added parts but didn't read the rest to make sure that the thing I was adding wasn't already there)
No support, there seems to be little effort in this application besides the one giant paragraph. I suggest looking at the accepted applications ; )
Not even close to the worst, sir. On a scale of one to ten, with (1) being "Cheesegrater to the Eyeballs" you come in as a pretty solid 4. You're enthusiastic and write well enough to be understood. Unfortunately you haven't gotten the hang of "staying on topic" and choosing thesis statements with supporting sentences. Your application reminds me of the dogs on the movie "Up": You'll start a thought well but then snarkle fargle potato shiny things yay. Normally I follow up with applicants in-game or on PM. If you're confused about how to clean this up or reword you can contact me sir. I won't promise speedy replies, but I won't ignore you either.
