I've Been Temp-Banned by the console a few times but only once by a mod for "Griefing." My appeal got accepted because I actually had permission to build on the island.

Why do you think you should be a mod?​

I think I should be mod because I help the community out and try to keep everyone happy and calm. Also when I log on to .net it's usually late at night and all the mods are usually asleep, so having me on when most of the others are asleep can keep the server in check all the time. The only reason I am creating another Mod Application, yes this is my second mod app, is because people want me to be a moderator because they see me so helpful to them, when the mods are busy or not on.

How long can you be active on the server every day? ​

My schedule is not a set schedule so it differs everyday, but I usually come on late nights or sometimes during the day.

Do you have any past experience as a moderator? ​

YES! I worked on a survival server, but was closed because of the lack of donations... We used to sell plots to people and let them build in a little 10 by 10 square and sometimes people would grief other peoples plots which fine because it was not a server rule. So I would just watch them and it was funny because no one knew who did it. Before I got modded I was just like one of the other players digging for supplies and trying to survive they had a cool plugin which allowed you to have a specific classes which allowed to progress in that class. I did so well one of the other mods put in a good word for me and when I applied they saw what I had done and.. BOOM I was mod. But not to long after that they were running out of bandwidth so they had to shutdown....

When people have questions in the global chat e.g. How do I get a pet?, How do I donate?, How do I delete my island?, etc. Either I get them the support right away or someone does when I'm busy helping others.

I've been up to doing mod since I joined this server about 3 years ago. I like helping people when I can and they respect me in return so its a win, win in my book. Plus I've been trying to get a server running for my cousin so I know a little about plugins and the commands.

For the non-'Muricans in the community Abandoned meant to include (UTC-5) in his answer. Additionally he is also suggesting everyone in the EST time zone is rural; this is slightly odd because the capitol of the United States and some of our most populated cities are all in this time zone.

"Unfortunate English" is what George Bush was famous for. Don't worry too much about your language restrictions unless you're trying to moderate in a European time zone.

You don't have to keep us all in check, Busta Rhymes. However you do get a +1 for explaining how you could help without blaming current staff members for not doing enough. Fix the grammar in this sentence-- that comma should be a period-- and this is an excellent point in your favor.

Suggest a rewrite on this portion for several reasons. The first reason: Why in the name of sweet Karate Action Christ do you have two applications for Moderator? Can you not edit the original application and gain the benefit of having a nicely-aged post with tons of views and comments?

Secondly I highly recommend avoiding putting things in your job application that suggests the current staff isn't doing a good job. "People like me more than mods, or the mods are not online" is a pretty eye-catching slap in the face to the current crew. You know... those people you want to be working with? They may remember you saying bad things about them.

Or don't rewrite at all. My opinions are worthless.

Are you trying to suggest you are completely unreliable...? Please give an idea of when you can be on even if it is just "M-F, 6pm or so, for 2 hours". Put a commitment down and don't dodge the question. Or just do whatever you like and good luck to you; my suggestions are pretty random.

I was not even aware Minecraft supported "Shawshank Redemption" servers.

You sold 10x10 plots? Did you charge them jellybeans...? I'm not very experienced with this game but I seem to remember Minecraft works in 16x16 "units", right? Abandoned I am sure there are many factors for your server shutting down but one of them might have been you were charging for a full buffet but only letting them eat the soup crackers.

Sidenote: I just looked up the maximum possible size of Minecraft and I am utterly stunned. Why does SkyBlock have a 97x97 limit...? The maximum map size is up in the billions, you could give every player a 500x500 area to "play" in and still have several hundred million unused sections of the SkyBlock map. I think I must be missing something here.

Why is this on your application, Abandoned?? You're proud to talk about watching people griefing each other and how funny it was...? Then you go sideways into some sort of minigame you enjoyed (but can't remember details about), then abruptly shift into how you made friends with administrators and they gave you a position. Then the server shut down, #TheEnd

The title of this section is "Why Should You Be A Moderator". Nevermind giving you an authority position over hundreds of players: After reading this block of text I would revoke your license to operate a vending machine. How does any of this (bizarre) personal story promote you as a good choice for a position of authority?

Highly suggest you rewrite this to remove the weird backstory while emphasizing how your past experiences have prepared you to handle player issues and common Moderator problems. Bonus points for any explanation regarding how your history could be applied to keeping the peace on forums or maintaining good community relations. So far this has read like you were the mascot on a burning ship sinking into a watery grave filled with failwater. Fix that.

I am a little scared to suggest improvements here. However, I would suggest you take a look at "so its a win, win in" because that phrase is making me want to push a button labeled Screw It, Let's Restart The World With Nukes.

Thank you so much Myrmidous! I will have to change some sections I didn't realize were improper. Definitely the most informative and hilarious feedback I've seen in 3 years. Just to touch up on my other Mod Application. I did close it for several reasons, that I'm not open to discuss, and felt like I wanted to change it up and give some updated views on how I saw the Skyblock community now that it has grown and changed.
