About me (irl): I was born in California, moved to China when I was 1, but I moved back to Texas when I was 3 years old. When I first came to America, I didn’t speak any English, so I couldn’t communicate with any of my class mates or teachers. It was pretty hard for me back then, and they didn’t even have a translator.

Life is good now, since that was in pre-k

About me (Skyblock): I started playing skyblock when I was in 4th, or 5th grade. I was first introduced to the game when I say my uncle playing it, and it seemed interesting, so I decided to try it out for myself. Didn’t know much about skyblock at that time, so I had many failures, until I finally had my own (stable) island.

When I first applied for mod, I’m sad to say I left many times, and locked my mod app many times. The last time I locked my mod app, I knew I couldn’t continue going like this, so I decided to stop for a while to pull things together. In that time, I decided that the best thing to do was to lock up my mod app, and start fresh.

Ban: I have been banned once, for new island farming. I made a new island and took its items, then asked my friend to invite me back. I knew the rules, but I thought I could get away with it. I didn't, and I feel really bad for doing that. I gave back the items after I got unbanned.

Reasons I should be a Moderator: My reasons for wanting to become a moderator starts at wanting to be able to help people. I know there has been a mass increase of new moderators, and there are always new players joining almost every day, so even though there are many more mods, there are only 1-3 mods on most of the time, and I still see players needing help.

There are always a few players on who like to cuss or use inappropriate language on the server, and they know, or at least should consider the fact that there are younger players on the server, or even just people who don’t feel comfortable around such words.

We all know that there are people who grief, and troll people, and it’s sad to see people behave that way, and it’s even worse to be the victim of griefers/trolls. I have been on the receiving end of greifers before, and I just want to point it out to others that haven’t that it isn’t a pleasant experience. Logging on the next day to see that all your items have been taken, and to see your island in ruins. A few players haven’t been on skyblock long enough to know we can get help from the forums, and they might not even know what the forums is entirely.

I’m sure most of us experienced that before, and I would hate to see someone go through the same thing, concluding the third reason of why I would like to become a mod.

When I help out people, I prefer private messaging them, since:

• It's a lot easier for the 2 of us to see
• It doesn't promote spam
• Other people shouldn't really care if they can, or can't see what I type to them.

Respect: I try to treat all players the same way, no matter if they are Donors, or Mods or greenies. I won’t judge someone when they ask a question, just because they played skyblock all their life, or if it’s their first day playing.

Honesty: I try to be honest. When I answer questions from others, or when participating in trade, I never just take the item, and leave. People have done that to me before, and I know how that feels.

Patience: I stay calm when helping new members, and let them take the time that they need. I understand that they are trying their best to understand the game, and we've all been there before.

Kindness: I try my best to help those who I am capable of helping, and to those who need it. When someone asks for my help, I do my best to do as they asked, but I won't let anyone push me around. I can choose to be firm. Kindness is not weakness.

Dedication: I am very dedicated to Skyblock, since it's one of the first servers I played on, and I spend the longest playing it. As I have said before, I've been on Skyblock for quite some time now.

Unbiased: I will not judge people by their rankings, and I will try my best to help anyone who asks for help. No matter if I know them, hate them, or if they're complete strangers to me.

Sociable: Though I may not be as outgoing as other people are on this server, I always try my best to be friends with everyone.

Fast Learner: If there is something that I don't know much about, I'll be willing to learn it to the full extent, until the problem, or question/ situation is answered/ solved.

Times: I can be on for a few hours during the weekdays, but I can stay on longer during Saturdays. I can't play way to long on weekdays, because of school, and 7th grade is one of the most important years of school.

Tuesday: 5:30 p.m - 7:30/8:00 p.m
Wednesday: 5:30 p.m - 5:00 p.m or 7:00 p.m
Thursday: 5:30 p.m - 5:00 p.m or 7:00 p.m
Friday: 4:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m or 8:00 p.m
Saturday: 3:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m
I'm not allowed to play on Sundays, since I have church, and then my violin lessons. Thank you for understanding.


Experience as a mod: I have been a mod on a minor server before, but it had to shut down. I hope to gain more experience as a mod on skyblock.

A few commands:

  • /tp (Username) : Allows someone to teleport without permission
  • /tp (Username) (Username) : Allows a tp where you put on player to another (Usually used if someone needs to be removed from an island on skyblock, so you tp them to you at spawn or another public warp),
  • /tppos : Allows a teleport to a coordinates you enter in
  • /kick (Username) (Reason) : If a player is commiting a small offence, you can log them off the server, but they can log-in right after.
  • /Tempban (Username) (Time) (Reason) If a player learned what they did wrong, but still deserves a punishment, then you ban them for a certain time period.
  • /Unban (Players name) : Unbans a player who was previously banned, and has an accepted appeal.
  • /mute (Username) (Time) : If a player spams after given a warning, then the player is muted for a period of time.
  • /ban (Username) (Reason) : Used if a player is commiting a serious offence that is bannable, such as greifing, looting, and what-not.

Being a moderator isn't a ranking that shows that you're better than other, it's just an ability to help people, and make sure that everyone is being treated fairly, and correctly.

Very nice application, I would just add some qualities that aren't in every mod application. Like some qualities that are specific to your personality to see how you would stand out beside your peers.
