Im looking for some ideas for my science research project :)

I can't really think of anything, so I'd really appreciate some ideas that I could use.
It cannot have anything to do with plants!!

    Thanks!!
<Edit: I'm interested in doing an experiment on the effects of global warming. My idea is to measure how long an ice cube takes to melt under certain conditions relating to our current world and past. I just don't know how I could do that... But ANY idea would be much appreciated>

    Take a few pain meds
3 different types of pain meds
Get a timer, and observe which one resolves faster

    Or
You can take 1 pain med and 1 cup of hot water, 1cup of cold water and 1 cup of room temperature last one is optional, but see which pill dissolved the fastest in what water.

That might be a bit to difficult to measure and/or create an experiment
That could make me sick or something  I was thinking about doing this but creating gastric acid (using acids from school) and measuring results..
I just read through that and I think it could be really interesting.. But what do I do with the jars at night??

You can do crystal growing based on climate. Whether in dark, light, cold, or hot. Seeing which causes the crystals to grow the fastest.

I've saw this done before, and we did it in school also. Get some popular brands of water, only one bottle of each, and get a glass of tap water. Then you'll need some Universal Indicator(if not available in school, get iodine I think). Then get some test tubes, one for each bottle and the glass of tap water. Go online and get a Ph scale printed off, and then you'll need a blank sheet of paper so you can see the color properly. Get the first bottle/glass you're testing, and a test tube. Pour the water into the tube, half should be good, and the out in three drops of UN/iodine in, get it a swirl and test the colour against the Ph scale after seeing it clearly by putting the paper behind it. If it's acidic, apparently it is supposed to not be that good for you, but if its more alkaline, then it's supposedly better for you. Might want to research this a slight bit more. I'd present the results in a table after deciding on the final Ph. Hope it helps:blush:

    • Determine the time it takes to melt ice cubes in different solutions/substances (ex: vinegar, sugar, and salt).
    • Determine the difference in melting points of different ice samples (ex: homogenous mixture of water and salt vs water and sugar).
    • Determine the time it takes to melt ice cubes of different mass/surface area.

You could do a killer research project on this
CRISPR - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Basically you can modify the DNA of a gene that already exists using this method. It can theoretically cure Alzheimer's, Dimencia, etc. It can also modify the gene's of an embryo, so basically it's like build-a-bear except with an unborn child ( a bit controversial lol). Kinda hard to understand at first, but this is huge news in the biological community, and if you did a project explaining it well, I'm sure your teacher would be super impressed.
