    Eh...I don't know. Nicknames are supposed to be a shortening of the full name. I think that the nicks are long enough on net so no support. I don't know how long they are on org so I will remain neutral about that.

    I'm staying neutral on this. Personally, I've never had an issue with the length of my nickname and the space for colour characters needed.

    On .net, it's currently 18 characters, (I believe,) which is 3 characters more than the past /nickname length.

    I realize your point, but both I can only chance MidnightNirvana and Purplevillager1 to one color. I also don't wanna use the nick "Purple" or "Midnight" since they are both very common words to start with.


    I would like to be able to have more colors in my full IGN, so support.

    if im not mistaken nickname length isnt something that is a permission based. Therefore setting nickname lengths means actually raising the length for everyone. Long nickname length on org, yes. Net had it raised and its fine now.

    If I recall it was extended on .NET not too long ago.. I don't think it really needs to be changed again, nicknames are usually short anyways.

    Max is around 15-18 characters.

    I'm personally a supporter. I have my nick as alternating colors, but I can't really do my full ign (same as my forums name) using that pattern, which is kinda...limiting, imo.

    I think it would be good if color definitions didn't count towards the length count.

    My familiarity with Java isn't too high, but it would essentially be taking the typed nick, stripping out all colors definitions (&1, &2, &3, etc) and then comparing the length of characters remaining to the max length - which in the languages I'm familiar with wouldn't be too difficult. So I'm sure that almost any Java developer could do it with ease.
