Hello my name is TALCMINER33 I have been playing on the skyblock server for over 1 and 1/2 years (maybe 2 I can't quite remember) and I have very recently joined the forums. I am in my mid-teens but I won't disclose my real age. (The 'birthday' on my profile is disguised to protect my identity). I do still go to school but I can still be online daily (see below for the specific times). I like to help people have a better experience on skyblock, unlike the one I had. My old island was griefed and no moderators helped me, and instead a donor helped me. I personally became a donor because of that, but being a moderator will allow me to truly make a difference on this wonderful server. Your in-game name: My in-game name is TALCMINER33 although my nick on the server is Talc Which timezone are you in? UST (Pacific Time) Which languages do you speak? I can speak English (of course) and my first language was Mandarin (Fluent). I am also able to understand a small amount of Spanish Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?) I do not recall being banned but it is possible my friend and I (Darkryie) were reported for scamming in a casino, although the casino had a dispenser with 3/9 of the items being god items. He was banned for about 2 hours but I did not check to see if I was banned as he just messaged me the news. Why do you think you should be a mod? I really do feel quite sad that my personal skyblock experience was not exactly the best. I was griefed, and no moderators helped me, and for a couple weeks I was helpless. A donor instead, came to my rescue and helped me recover when I restarted my island. I hope to change this and when a default or a donor or even another moderator needs help, I will do everything in my power to assist them as best as I can. My skyblock island I currently have a skyblock island and I run daily free skin competitions, welcoming anyone from default players to skygod 400s. I want people to not have to have the same chance at winning things like iron or grass no matter how much money they donated. I also have multiple farms that I open up for people to use such as my skeleton farm, cactus farm, and pretty soon a smaller "warp mob" and "warp animal" I know the server well I have been playing on the server for quite a while and I know what is illegal, what is legal, and the vast economy that the server was able to create. I know multiple different people that I have helped in the past that I support often and I am becoming a lot more well known on the server than I used to be. I do not abuse power Many people abuse their power as a donor or moderator to fly/jump into people's restricted areas and mess around with people. The /jump and /fly commands are tools and perks for donors to have a better experience and to make it easier for them to build awesome creations. I currently only use my donor50 rank's flying and jumping to work on my own creations or to assist people in fixing things that are difficult for other people to fix on their own I am active I do daily skin comps as I mentioned before and I am active every single day for at the LEAST 30 minutes even when I don't have much time. Being online is something I not only feel I should do, but I really enjoy being with the server's diverse population and helping people whenever I can I am unbiased Being one of the most important things to have whenever you are writing non-opinion essays and analyzing things, this is something I do a lot and before stating my own personal opinion or deciding to do something, I look at both sides of an argument and check the evidence backing each side up. This could be very helpful when there are two sides with one saying the other scammed and the other denying it. And even if I have a friend who I know very well and they did illegal things such as dirt trade or repetitive advertising, I would still ban them nevertheless but still remain friends with them. I am open minded I can keep an open mind even when there is someone from a vastly different culture. I've been to Taiwan multiple times and they have a very different culture than the one we have here in America. No matter the culture or experience some person has I can do my best to relate to their experience. I am friendly first-thing When I meet someone I am always friendly to them. Even if looking at the way they speak they do not seem friendly, I would just assume it is because typing and talking to someone face to face can have 2 very different meanings.Until I observe a person's intentions to be completely hostile, I will not judge them by their actions. Even when someone appears to be extremely rude or hostile, I will do my best to remain in a neutral state with them and not show anger or hostility towards them. I do not perform or encourage gossip I do not like to talc (yes I just inserted a talc pun right there XD) behind people's back or say negative things about them. If I were to state my opinion of somebody I would do it directly to them or not at all. Gossiping can hurt people in a bad way without them even knowing the reason. I enjoy helping people Helping people is not only just good in general, it really makes me feel good. Helping people allows me to make more and new friends. I can develop friendships with those that I would not have ever seen before and have a great time with them. When I see a default player talcing (Them talc puns tho) about something they lost, I would immediately msg them if it was a small issue or visit them and provide all the information I have. If someone lost their bucket or lava, I would give them some obsidian and iron to create new ones. No matter the the ranking of the players, we are all human beings and we all payed for the game minecraft, I will assist anyone at anytime. I have a youtube channel I know this sounds a lot like advertisement but hear me out. I want to use youtube not as a way to become popular, but to help the server on skyblock learn about different things. I am planning a series for newer players to learn about techniques and strategies I used to become the way I am on skyblock. I also record times when I am building, allowing players to learn about how to build my creations and for them to have hope that they too, can have just as much fun as I do. How long can you be active on the server every day? Although I do have school and things like that I am able to get on every single day. I will be MUCH more active during the summer but below is just a very typical school week for me: I will be able to be active from (remember this is UTC Time) Keep in mind there are exceptions and I will also be online other than these times. Mon. Tue. Wed. Thurs. 4:00 PM-10:00 PM Is the time gap I can be online Fri. 3:00 PM-10:00 PM Is the time gap I can be online Sat. 1:00 PM-11:00 PM Is the time gap I can be online Sun. 10:00 AM-10:00 PM Is the time gap I can be online More Info: There are multiple exceptions like: Summer: A LOT MORE TIME! (June-August) Breaks: A LOT MORE TIME! (Winter 2 Weeks - Spring 2 Weeks) Normal Schedule: 1-3 Hours On Weekdays 1-5 Hours On Weekends Do you have any past experience as a moderator? I have never had any real experience as moderator but I believe that the experience I've had playing on multiple different servers and online games such as: Team Fortress 2, CS:GO, League of Legends, etc. will help me in the long run to becoming a moderator. I hope becoming a moderator will not only help me personally becoming a better person, but allowing the server to have a safer and a friendlier environment for the players of skyblock.net Thanks you so much for reading my mod app and please give me feedback and I hope you support me! Don't forget to mine talc and stay awesome!
60% support! ~I see you online, but maybe help out in chat more ~I'd change the questions to a less bright color. (some people can't read your app) ~Be more active on forums ~and add a bit more detail on why you think you should be a Mod. (Not traits) Good Luck!
Honestly, I think you joined forums just so you could apply. Become more used to the forums and help out more in game. No support for now. Sorry.
Nice job, I am brand new on the forums, but just recently I have read multiple mod applications. I hope you get excepted as a mod. Although some things on your application seem very broad and plain. I also am in the same time zone as you are, and as a constant player online around those times you said, I do not see you online that much. Good Luck.
That is possibly because I wasn't quite online yesterday as I had quite a few things to do. Also in my defensive I do help out more by private msging people as it is easier for us both. I do occasionally just help ppl in chat in general just more in private msg.
No support, we have the exact same timezone and I've never seen you online. Also still having 'New Member' doesn't look that good since you haven't really experienced the forums that much. Maybe wait a bit.. Good luck
I haven't seen you online either I really don't know I guess we just don't notice each other much.... Thanks though I have been trying my best to help around the forums. And btw, I'm not a new member anymore.
Actually, peop is on quite a bit... I see you on a ton though, and I have noticed you helping. Wait a little longer before running for mod tho, as you seem a bit new to the community. 75% support
100% support. I've never seen you be anything but fair, and I've seen you help many people, including me. I think you'd be a great addition to mod.
Oh I have seen Peop lel sorry for the assumption. She is online pretty often now that I know her nick
100% support. I know you as a friend, and you have always been serious and helpful and logical. You are for the most part mature, and although I don't always see you helping, you always answer questions and stuff. I still feel you should wait a while though.
Full Support. Full Disclosure: I have been in a co-op with him for a while. But, he has always been a great partner. Good Luck! One suggestion: add a spoiler at the bottom of your application and keep track of people with full / partial / no support.
Well. I can't fully support you as I have never seen you in-game, probably because of the time zones. But one of the things that I want you to do is to click the reply button when you answer someone. You just need to get used to the forums a bit before I can support you. Also. You can really try to help out more on the forums. As Colorado said, I think you might have just made a forums account so that you may reply. No support for now. But it can be changed. Good luck Soap
