Hello, my User ID on here and in-server on the .net is Tiberium_Trooper. I've come across something that is rather unnerving, and potentially destructive for on sky-block and would like to suggest that a standing procedure or rule be put in place to prevent it from being made/used in-game to grief. the Object/build i am talking about is a Red-stone missile "Slime missile". It's a self-sustaining, airborne red-stone machine that can effectively cut a decent sized hole or trench in a small -to- medium sized island, and keep going until it either impacts a non-block item (sign, chest, enchanting table, spawner etc; ) or hits the map boundary. It can break (glitch) through sky-block build boundary zones and keep going on a direct straight path until it impacts one of the before-mentioned objects or a solid surface such as the map boundary or a solid block surface at least 4-blocks+ in thickness. I don't think i need to go into further details about what could happen if enough of these are sent on a collision course with a neighboring starter island. Furthermore, i will not be attaching a picture to this thread, as to prevent potential server-trolls from reading this, learning how to make one, and set it on someone. If any mods or admins wish to learn more, please visit my island and i will demonstrate, or there is google also. i can also screen-share via skype to demonstrate as well, simply message me in-game if that is required.
How would you know who build it? I don't think block log will be able to tell who build it when you find it on your island. You might end up flying miles to find the island where it was build, because of the movement of the missle. But this is just considered griefing and so already bannable, I think.
very true and i understand about griefing already being bannable. but the range is only extreme if it interacts with nothing. the slime blocks tend to pickup "trash" while its traveling. if it accumulates at least 3 blocks in front and 2+ on either side it stops moving. that would make it rather easy to trace to its point of origin. i have a demonstration for this setup on my island using pillars and a means of stopping it, so it doesn't keep going and eventually grief someone. if you would like to see, i can show you in-game.
I saw one once and I believe it will not cause any harm once it leaves the loaded chunk. Only when that chunk is loaded it will travel once more unless redstone continues to work in unloaded chunks. If its soul purpose is to grief it wont be effective as it will only destroy a small amount of blocks and the griefer cannot break it once on someone elses island.
