The title really says it all. This will prevent a lot of "newisland farming" and what not. I personally think a 5 minute cool down would benefit the server. I know that when non-donors (New users) start a new island and what not, they might lose their bucket and want to restart, but with a 5 minute or possibly even a little more shouldn't be an issue.

I don't play org anymore, and I'm not sure if the server still does, but org has/had an hour for /newisland cool down. So support, this should be implemented for net.

I think that would be great, support.

However, I have some suggestions:

Make the cooldown of /newisland replace and /coop accept linked together.

Example: if I /newislnd replace, the coop member that I was previously with cannot do /coop invite right after that.

 

50% Support. If you were thinking this would be useful to stop island farming it's not.

If someone really wanted the supplies from a new island, they would wait.

It would just slow island farming down for sure.

What if you reset you island and you dropped your lava bucket???

How about you can only reset your island 3 times every hour

I'm neutral on this.
It would not prevent island farming, it would just slow the rate down.
When I started my island I had to restart it about... 5 to 6 times in a period of around 10 mins. I think this would just confuse people who are new to the server and if they were like me, restarting it 4 times + in a period of 10 mins, then they would soon get bored and leave the server.

I do remember losing buckets, no saplings from trees (There was no /kit sapling at this time), I had lost my water.
I had asked in chat but nobody had helped me.

The player can wait out the cool down.

 

Even if it is 5 min then the island farmer would probably take longer and then he could move on to the next one immediately.
