I'd like a place to collect all of the information about the server that I had to learn the hard way because the information is nowhere to be found. For example...

Do not place item frames, visitors to your island can and will steal them.

Silk touch is enabled, but not for grass.

There is no nether, so creating a portal will not take you anywhere.

To prevent getting scammed, set up a one-time use trade shop crate setup in order to carry out one-time transactions.

It might also be useful to newcomers to include simpler things like that there is no mining, nor are there ores anywhere on Skyblock.

If there are any little details like this that I've missed but are equally important, please comment.

A lot of this is stuff you'll learn from playing, especially the nether portal with clicking obsidian and all...

Mining? If they know what SkyBlock is they shouldn't expect it -- and even if they don't they should be able to figure it out when they start an island floating in the sky made of dirt.

Only thing you listed I think would be worth adding (and even then its not too important imo) is the item frame thing. That could be helpful and prevent some from losing items.

"Id like a place too..." leads me to believe they want something added, hence, suggestion.

Though, yes, one does learn these things from experience on the server or simply just asking around, it would be nice to see an "official" place to see a collective list of these sort of "lesser known facts". I like the suggestion of the item frames info, scamming prevention (for net w/tradeshops or org w/chestshops), silktouch, and nether portals (especially since they are illegal to have lit on org).

Even though I like the suggestion, I'm going to stay neutral for now. Not sure where the information would be added. It wouldn't (and shouldn't) be added to the rules, as I think you mean in your suggestion.

 

^ Half of the things I know now, I've learnt over the course of playing SkyBlock, asking players and moderators is what I normally do, as they may know more than me.

I'm going to be neutral on this one. The statements are important, but I do not think they are needed in the rules. My opinion is very much similar to Sakura's.

 

What about /warp rules?
Would be a good place for it - starter info for new players, all in one area.

& while a few of you have mentioned asking people, this CAN be helpful, but it's a hit-or-miss as to whether anyone actually answers. You have to word things specifically to get attention, and I only know that (once again) through experience. Moreover, these are things I wouldn't think to ask. Unless told otherwise it's reasonable to assume item frames and paintings can be used if you can place them.

I also didn't know that lit portal frames were illegal (not that I have one, but that's news to me).

They Are Not Illegal They Just Dont Work

 

Actually, there have been lit ones found - either way it's useful to know that they are illegal because somebody might light one and not realize that - and when they start getting zombie pigmen spawning, and make a grinder... Could get them in trouble before they even know that it's against the rules.

 

Huh I Never Knew that Nether Portals were against the rules... How come art has one then?

 

They shouldn't have one - and FYI, this is why this thread makes sense. This info should be added to /warp rules.
