But death threats are illegal, and taken seriously by police even if over the internet/phones etc.
If it's illegal in real life, it should be at least punishable in game.

Agree. This is a very serious topic and I think that over a game this shouldn't happen. People are stupid enough to do this and really hurt someone's feelings. There is NO excuse for telling people that you will kill them and a perm ban would be more than sufficient.

 

I don't think a per ban would do may be a temporary ban (like up to 4 months or so) and after that get muted for 3 months.

I agree with you it is just sad for people saying to commit suicide. That should lead to a temporary ban+a 3 month mute after that

 

I wouldnt do it for that long. But then i dont know. Truthfully the problems it can cause is understandable for the period of time you have suggested

Correct. The threats themselves not a joke (although a great amount of the use of them is, but if I said otherwise you'd disagree with that, what can ya do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), however the level of overreaction to them are.
It's like feminism, yes feminism is a legitimate thing about actual equality, but some people push it so far over the limit that its a huge joke. And that's how the internet rolls.

First of all, if you make these death threats, you'll make this broken angel even more broken. I've actually had people come up and pm me saying "can you help me, this guy is threatening they will kill me." It's actually quite freaky. If this can be solved, that would be great

Do you honestly think any of them hold true? It's not like somebody is going to go into your house at 3 pm in the morning and stab you a bunch of times, hell its not even possible to get ips from a server unless you have permission to view said ips.

Well someone telling you to kill yourself? Or threatening to kill you is something which is scary. And btw you can ip track people on stuff like ts. Or over forums. Ive had it done. And if you ever heard the story. This happened in real life. Someone went and slit a guys throat over the internet, he ip searched him went to his house and slit his throat, this is a young guy btw. So yes we have reasons to worry. If we can stop death threats from happening. Then we can actually help out people. People who suffer with depression. Which is about 60% of this server. So if we can help people feel safer on the server id like it to be done. We have children as young as 8 on here and familys, who play on here.

I know it will never be true, but it still hurts people, there are 8 year olds that play on this server. Imagine you were a 8 year old, would you like it if someone said "nobody likes you, not even your mom, or your dad." Or even if they just said they were going to kill you if they didn't win the skin competition, that would bring the 8 year old nightmares.

Imo, death threats (just even a simple kys) should result in permanent ban, without hesitation (the accused can appeal saying sorry, in a sincere manner). My past experiences on other servers, death threat usually results in a permanent ban, without hesitation.
