Okai.. I know this a topic which many of you will say its just a joke. But.. a Lot of people actually do commit suicide over comments over this. This is actually personal to me because i was on the side of this. I got multiple death threats, on this server, I got told to commit suicide. So People can enjoy the pleasure. I had months of abuse on this server with people telling me to go kill myself, to the extent were problems occured. I had mods not knowing how to handle the situation exactly.. becuase there were no set rules.

Ive had close friends sit there... and watch as people tell them to die, and some of them do try certain things to relieve this, and cope with it.

And truthfully i think something should be done. I know you lot are going to comment saying there just 12 year old kids thinking its funny. But If you actually realise the extent this causes to people then you would agree with me that this shouldn't happen. I've seen countless people telling players to go kill them selves, To go kys, and everything to slit there wrists. Sometimes... You do after that. I know you may say its just a JOKE. But its someones life.. And this is me saying we need to put something in place.

Ive had these threats spoken to mods, and they have told me there's no rules for them to follow on subjects like this. These are older moderators by the way.

We need something in place. Like a verbal warning, Maybe a mute or a temporary banned. Cause issues like this can cause severe problems.

I know alot of players are like really why are you posting about this? But if you have been on the side, which im talking about then you will now how upsetting it is, and how hurtful it can be. So Please just understand where im coming from

 

People are already muted for acting out, or at least that's what is supposed to happen.
Gotta be realistic though its the internet -- a place full of @holes, only so much can be done about it.

Edit: As this was over half a year ago, my thinking on this has changed. Yes; death threats shouldn't be acceptable, but there's a line between being harshly threatened about death (eg: being told to kill yourself over a couple times, or having threats they'll kill you, etc.) and just being bothered by a couple. (eg: you get a single death threat.). You can always /ignore them, we have that command for a reason.

My thinking on if it's taken to the extreme, and it's not stopping, it should be bannable. But it's the internet, people are going to say rude things because they don't have to take the responsibility of being known. They're people behind a screen.

So, support for only and only extreme death threats. If you're ever bothered by a person just /ignore them.

 

Support for something to be done about this, it's not acceptable.

 

So a player.. Can get muted for what an hr?? then come back and tell you over and over again to do it. I know theres such thing as ignore. But you know how hard that is to do. When you're bodys shaking.. cause you cant stop the tears.
It should be something better. Because players shouldnt be allowed to get away with stuff like this.

Death Threats are Not something you can just ignore. To be honest i know your hurt with me and that lot. But please leave this out of this. And actually look at the bigger picture. You cant ignore someone. Telling you to kill yourself. As soon as you read the words, your body shakes. And your mind wonders should i? Tears swell in your eyes and you sit there shaking because your hurt. So Yes there maybe Ignore. But Something as serious as this shouldnt be ignored. This actually can cause people to die. And try and commit suicide.

Im gonna say this because i dont mind telling my history.. I actually had a experience on ts. I couldnt ignore the guy. He was talking he was Inboxing me. He sat there and asked me to slit my wrists, and my throat On camera so he could masturbate over my dead body. This was actually on the Skyblock.net Ts. I got mods involved, and ended up crying my eyes out, and getting a knife because i was so tempted to.

So Im sorry if /ignore is a good enough reason for you. But people who are put in situations like this. Like the ones ive talked to with players. Cant just ignore what there going through, and Let the player get away with it. It is technically a criminal offence, and you can be prosecuted for it. So Yes

Okai.. But if we can limit the stuff like this it would be better to help out people. And Btw if people get offended, Then no they shouldn't they have just as much right as everyone else. Its a criminal offence to tell someone to kill themselves, Online. And is classed as cyber bullying. So if the person is reported. The Police can follow it and actually do something. So if people are gonna tell people to die? Why dont they go to jail??? Huh? All were asking is for some support and help. Were not asking them to be sent to jail. Were just asking for mutes, or a temp ban, Maybe even a ban

No one likes disrespect, and few people tolerate it. This server is played by people between 5 and 50, and we do not want young kids seeing and using swears, 4th grade is low enough! Think I am crazy about this? A number of players (case in point was Gigantic_Man) are banned for disrespecting. Kids get banned almost every day for server hate as well.

If it is a one time thing and is an accident, it is ok, maybe just a kick.

Death threats are unacceptable, but we do have /ignore for a reason. You aren't forced to be on the Internet, and if someone is seriously bothering you, you'd /ignore them for your own mental health. And despite all of this, if a player is harassing another player, consequences will take place. Most of the staff members take stuff like this seriously, but if you're putting yourself around harsh people, you should be able to take it upon yourself and /ignore it. After all, we don't have that command for nothing.

Technically this doesnt Come under player disrespect, Due to the fact you're not disrespecting a player. You're Telling them to die. Player disrespect covers such things as sexual comments, Rudeness, swearing, Death threats wouldnt come under it. I know this as mods have Not much clue what to do when death threats occur. Because there are no rules for it. So they do what they think is right. Hense why were asking for rules.
