When we talked the issue I talked about the most was your activity. Of course I have no doubt you would do an amazing job, having only 1 day free does concern me. But I do have a very great idea to help this concern I have. I know you will make an asset to our team, So Support.
Support. I'm sure all the compliments have been given already of how well you'd moderate. I don't need to repeat ;p
It is a pleasure to see someone so mature on this server! I will have to support a fellow grown up who loves to play games and of course LEGO! I am 37 and I still play with Lego. I totally give 100% Support
I can see that he is obviously well known by the staff 'community', but 'not having to post a much as other people'; contradicts the point of 'applying' to be a moderator. I'm not disagreeing with opinions about 'grey', but it would be nice to not see 'favouritism' in a supposedly 'serious' section of the forums.
I would like to know what you mean by 'applying'. You used ' ' a bunch and it makes no sense to me at points that you did. It has nothing to do with 'favouritism' it has to do with experience and knowledge. We all know that gray has those qualities.
Okay, I shall elaborate. When you consider the word 'apply' in this circumstance and context. (Applying on the forums to become a moderator, follow the rules about applying and then using the template to create the application. You would generally expect to see a decent amount of effort put in on each sections of the template that requires detail. As I stated, I'm not disagreeing with what people think about 'grey', but 'we all know', is incorrect. I think I've spoken to 'grey' a couple of times maximum and I can't define those characteristics from those short periods of interaction. Without a shadow of a doubt, he is favourited by the majority of the staff. For reasons that have been stated in comments prior to this. However, you need to see it from my perspective that it would have been nice to see more effort put in to the process, before seeing the words 'congratz in advance' or words of similar effect. Please do not look down on this comment as I was just being honest. Although I'm sure to a degree this will be frowned upon. Fell_In_Lava
I believe effort was put in. Reading it is smooth and well written. If gray broke a rule or something, none of the mods would hesitate to take action. We can still be friends with him though. The reason people put 'congratz in advance' is because they really think he deserves it and will get it for his personality and such. No one is looking down on your comments. We take comments on Mod applications seriously
Of course he is going to be received well by the staff community, as a teamspeak moderator he is already part of it. In contrast to other players applying, cyp will already have a wider knowledge of grey sage as a person, an elongated application explaining things cyp already knows would be pointless. If moderators were selected by the community I could understand the criticism but as they are not, I don't.
You have missed key aspects of what I have explained to you. At no point did I say that you would hesitate to take action if 'grey' broke rules. Nor did I say that you couldn't be friends with him. I stated in a clear way that more effort would have been greatly appreciated, and if you think that the application has had effort put into it; I believe you are sadly mistaken. Fell_In_Lava
If this is so, then why 'apply' in the first place? Surely if what you have stated is true. Then there was little point in posting the application? Or have I missed the point of trying and putting in the effort to succeed in becoming a moderator through the application process?
I get what you're saying, but Gray would make a great moderator, and the staff team is stubborn to admit that he could have tried harder because they like him too much.
I can see where he is coming from as well. It has to do with time. Look at how much time Gray has. He fit this application in as he could.
Surely that wouldn't be classed as "favouritism"? Would it? (Moving on). I don't believe that because they like him, they won't express that more effort would indeed, have been needed. My thought process is that because the majority of the staff team know him and or respect him. As a result, they're going to shine a more positive light towards his direction without paying too much attention to fault. Another concern I have is, if people come onto the forums and see this application, they will follow suit. No doubt about it. Let me take you through 'new applicants' thought processes. - It's my first time applying, I know. I shall look at popularly supported applications. - Takes a look at 'Grays' application. Oh. That doesn't look to bad, I can create mine in no time at all. It must be a good application because a large portion of the staff team have given it considerable support. - (Makes application) - (reads feedback) - your application needs more detail, you haven't written enough; add more, creating such a short application shows signs of immaturity. These being just a few negatives of what the future of some applications may hold. Please take this into consideration.
