Hello all, and I would like any experienced mod or cyp to respond to this question. As you all know, there are many problems and glitches that occur and people lose their islands and stuff. I would like to ask, what is the best way to secure your island from glitching when trading coops (as change leader is broken) and also just in case your island goes bad. Typically, it seems cyp won't refund anything and I would like to know if there is anything we can do to secure this stuff. Obviously, screenshots is not enough.
I would also like to know the answer to this question, I have lost a few diamonds before because of this glitch
Well, to be sure, I'd try to have an alt or friend's account on that island before doing the coop trade. That way you'd still have access. If you don't have one though, things can get a bit harder. You may be able to use someone else's but that's kind of a bit risky. To "secure" it is something else entirely. You can take down coordinates and put lockettes on chests to prove the items are either yours or the other player's. I would take the following steps in this part: (Make sure you have coordinates down first) 1) condense all that you can into the smallest # of chests possible 2) take screenshots of all the items in the chests and put it in a seperate folder somewhere quickly accessable. 3) add the lockettes, this may be troublesome as it limits access to Smod+, but it does strengthen the ownership status. If something does happen to go wrong, not only can you locate the chests, but you can also prove who's they were. Hope this helps some bit ^-^ I'm no mod or admin but there are some things another player can do!
There isn't exactly a command that you can set to fix your island if it's in a corrupted chunk or it glitches. The system is glitched, just like every single other system on this planet. It's not perfect, and it can never be. However, that doesn't mean that you are one of the players with a glitched island. What you can do is make sure there is a player on your island to ensure your island will not be reset and you still have someone on there. If the coop leader does /coop leave, the oldest coop member obtains leadership, resulting in another player with leadership. There is the .001% chance that your island will delete, so I suggest to take screenshots regularly so you at least have some sort of proof that you had an island instead of witnesses or such. CypriotMerks does in fact refund players, but there is a lot on his plate with him actually having a life and all. Apologies for my lengthy reply, but I hope you understand what I mean now.
More input I'm enjoying this. Is there a way we could save the islands locally and have the server side backups? This would atleast make some security. Just an idea. I will accept it is flawed, but I guess everything is.
The skyblock map is huge. Basically there is no way to really prepare yourself for bugs and glitches that will happen. With world edit it is possible to save the island in its current state as a schematic but everyone would probably want this done. Things can go wrong with a server much like any other computer system and data.
