    What is the sum of the coefficients of
    ( [3x - 3x^2 +1]^744 ) x ( [- 3x + 3x^2 +1]^745 )

    idk im only in 3rd grade, the teacher said she would give us 3 extra credit points if we completed it; she wrote on the the test saying almost! but i just don't get it :c

    You simply substitute X for 1 (x=1) and solve.

    It said coefficients, so you disregard the 'x' or simply substitute x for 1, works either ways.

    And 1 to any power is 1 which when you multiply them it's 1 x 1 which is 1

    You should remember that you may evaluate the sum of coefficients of a polynomial if you substitute 1 for the variable x such that:

    Hence, evaluating the sum of coefficients and the given multiplication yields [​IMG]

    Substitute x=1 into the expression. Then simplify.
    [(3-3+1)^744] *[(-3+3+1)^745]
    [(1)^744]*[(1)^745]
    1*1
    =1
