I think its fair to say a lot of you have gone on to teamspeak and realised that your rank on their has been lost after getting a new PC, or you have teamspeak on your PC, and the rank will not be present on your phone or other PC. Asking for the rank back may take a while so why not sort thing yourself. This guide will show you how to never lose your rank again. You will keep the same "account" on all types of teamspeak you use, whether its PC or phone Complete these steps first 1. Open up teamspeak and press ctrl+I or navigate to setting -> Identities 2. You should see a box come up looking like this: 3. Click on Export, name and save your identity, preferably on a usb flash drive so you will always have a copy handy. It should appear as an .ini file. PC 1. Follow steps 1 and 2 above 2. Press the import button 3. Locate where you saves the .ini file from the first step then simply press open. 4. Click on the new identity on the side list, then press the default button. This will make sure when you join a ts server, that identity is the one that will log in unless otherwise specified. All ranks from any servers will still be present. iOS 1. Plug in your device to itunes and open it up. Click on your device icon. 2. Navigate to the "apps" section on the left side bar where you should see a list of installed apps. Find your teamspeak app by scrolling right to the bottom where you should see itunes sharing. 3. Drag and drop the .ini file on your teamspeak documents 4. Completely restart teamspeak on your idevice and your identity will be imported. 5. Press menu, then press identities and then press on your new identity that you imported. Give the identity a name, a nickname and then switch it as default. 6. Then go to bookmarks under "Manage" and then under "advanced" you will see a setting for identity. Press into that and select your new identity. It should have a tick next to it. 7. Connect to the teamspeak server and you should find your rank that you have on your PC is now on your idevice. Android 1. Plug in your android device to your PC 2. Copy and paste the .ini file into your devices download folder or any desired folder 3. Open up the android app and find identities 4. Import identity button (the silhouette with the green arrow) and your identity should appear. Tap in then press ok. Then simply click the silhouette with the green tick to make it default. I hope this has helped. I will add more pictures soon. Do not give out your teamspeak identity files to anyone, and most importantly back up your .ini file even if you do not need to switch PC's any time soon
Wow, I didn't know you could do this Handy! I suppose those who have you buddied would have you still buddied as well.
Unfortunately buddy lists are actually done by the program itself and is not affected by teamspeaks user system. So what you can do is find this file: settings.db file, which is located in %AppData%\TS3Client. Back this file up on a usb every so often and if you get a new pc, copy and paste this file in the same location as you found it in previously and your buddy lists and other settings will be restored. This will not work on iOS or Android devices.
Great guide, I know many people have this problem ;p I had it before and it was frustrating. Good job Krissy
