I've left signs for my coop leader at the island bedrock that have gone unanswered, and it appears they've quit the game - or at least aren't making any active changes.

I found three conflicting answers by searching the forums about a process to transfer island ownership to an active member. Love indicated there's no way, another post mentioned CypriotMerk could do it if you catch him (good luck!), and the general coop FAQ said it was "... very hard to change leaders."

Apologies if my search-fu is no good, a reply with a pointer to a previous post with an answer would be helpful.

 

I don't think he can change the leaders, as it's bugged. I'm not entirely sure, though. The leader has to leave the island in order for you to become the leader, and that's only if you're the oldest coop member.

 

Try /seen [your coop leaders name]
If it shows a message in red that states error, then you can't do much about it.

Thanks, anyhow. I have two primary choices:
1) Live with the dead-end.
2) Start over fresh - after figuring out what, if anything, I can take to the new island of my personal stash.

 

That seems as if those are the two viable options, but the choice is ultimately yours.
