    Introduction to me:

Hey! My real name (whatever you want it to be :D) but my in game name is “Pyk” or “Pyknic.” When asked to talk about yourself and still be humble it is hard. I hate to “brag” and be that guy that shoves his achievements into others faces. So writing this can be quite difficult but I’m up for a good challenge. I want to begin with a few things about me. Of course my name is Pyknic (IRL name is whatever you want it to be) and I am a mature 15 years old. I am a sophomore at a private school and I love to learn. I am learning to drive in Drivers Ed and nearing the end with one class left. As I said in my “about me” section of my profile I love to see people being happy and enjoying the game of Minecraft. Also, I have been on this server for two years, initially starting with my friend. I had a section of inactiveness where I lost interest but I came back. My forum account needed to be terminated because my name was out dated (that’s why I have about ~3 weeks on the forums). Anyways enough about me, onward to the application!

Thanks for reading my mod application! :D

    Your in-game name:

    Pyknic_2

    Which timezone are you in?

    Eastern Standard Time

    Which languages do you speak?

English and currently in Spanish III

Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?)

I have never been banned on a server and don’t plan on being banned, it doesn't sound fun.

Why do you think you should be a mod?

As I said before writing any application can be difficult. I intend to use what I have learned and noticed over the last year to my advantage when writing this application. I can tell based on my chats with in-game moderators that it is not easy. Sometimes they can’t chat or build because they are helping. This is a sacrifice I am willing to take if the server and my friends receive active help. Here is why I think I should be a moderator on the [.net] server.

Kindness Without being a kind player or moderator you’re job would be pointless. Kindness is extremely important to a good leader but can also be difficult to prove. I try my best in-game to deliver the nicest things I can to other players. For example, when players come back online I welcome them. This is also shown when I talk to other players in-game. I keep a nice attitude no matter the real life situation I’m in. Everyone deserves respect no matter if they have a rank or not and I try to remember this when someone asks for help.

LeadershipLeadership in Minecraft can be difficult to conjure up. Where can I be a leader? Where have I been a leader? I realized that I show my leadership qualities in my close relationships with my friends and other players. Every time a player asks me for help and I respond that’s leadership. Even without moderator status the messages everyday pour in asking for help. All of that is an example of leadership, the fact that they come to me.

Experience This category is what I believe to be the best for my moderator application. With two full years of owning a server experience is in abundance. Everyday I would log on to people asking for my help on my server. Overall, this is my best quality because I can relate to it. I know it’s hard, I know it’s a tough job, but just give me the challenge. With that experience under the belt I am trustworthy and ready for any tough time. My server taught me basic commands such as /kick, /ban, /mute… But I also know many server plugins and permissions.

Helpfulness I’ll admit it, I’m addicted to helping. What kills me is when I get an in-game request that only a moderator can perform and I have to shut that request down. If a moderator is online I flag them down but I would love to be the one to help. Helping others is one of my overly attentive qualities. I almost help too much on the server to the point where I’m broke. When I see someone ask a question, I am quick to help. When someone is confused, I am quick to explain. When someone has lost, I am quick to refund. This is my most dominant quality that I cannot help but have too much of, I love to help others.

Moderation A moderator should know to check their feed in order to find questions. I am not one to let questions come to me. With my past experience as moderator and my knowledge of commands I know what a moderator should do to help the server. For example, spammer? /mute. I know when it’s okay to be strict and when it’s okay to play around. I often check in chat for any questions I missed or anyone trying to reach me with a question.

Quality Decision Making Skills This quality is something I believe I handle quite well. On my own server many decisions needed to be made and most IRL financially. This is where I found a true strength in this category. Knowing when to kick, ban and mute are all very important. My time as owner taught me IRL decision-making skills and in-game decision-making skills. This quality is important because of the severity and the trust put behind a moderator. The power cannot be abused, this I realize. Without being able to make quality decisions it would be pointless to be a moderator. But I believe my decision-making skills that I have learned are ready to be used.

Trustworthy I believe this quality is also one of my very abundant ones. I would use an online reference by saying a bunch of people trust me on their islands, but that doesn’t help. People need someone they can turn to, to adequately benefit them during their problem. This quality needs to be abundant or else people wouldn’t have faith in you. I would make a great mod because people can trust me. The power and commands all leave my head when talking about trust. You would need to want to talk to me, and turn to me if you need help.

Conclusion I understand the extreme trust and responsibility moderator’s hold, as it was hard to choose my own. I also understand the immense pressure some moderators are under, but I’m ready to be put in that challenge and help as many people as I can. Listed above are the qualities I believe I know I have and that I am confident about. But each of these qualities make up a good leader and moderator of a server. Experience, helpfulness, kindness, leadership, decision making skills, trustworthy, and moderation all make up a great server moderator and overall a great leader.

How long can you be active on the server every day?

    ˚ Monday: 2-5+
    ˚ Tuesday: 2-5+
    ˚ Wednesday: 3-6+
    ˚ Thursday: 3-6+
    ˚ Friday: 3-6+
    ˚ Saturday: 2-9+
    ˚ Sunday: 2-9+

Time online will also increase substantially when I am on break from school.

Do you have any past experience as a moderator?

As I mentioned in my above paragraphs I owned a server for two straight years. I learned permissions, code, finances, quality servers, bad servers, how to juggle ten messages at a time, and finally moderation the most important.

Thanks for your feedback! My account was terminated about 6 days ago. Although I have over a year on the forums under the name "shaggy121." Hopefully I can change your feedback on me, but thanks!

Thanks for the support! Most of my help comes from private messages that could be why you don't see me in-game. Thanks for the feedback!

    Hi Pyknic!
100% support. This application is great! I like the colour and I like the detail you used. One thing; do not make a new application just to edit something. Just edit the old one. There is always a little edit button on the bottom of the post/your application which you can click on to edit it. :)

You seem new to the forums, so get use to it first.
Your mod application is one of the best I have seen in a long time.
Just edit your application, instead of deleting, and making a new one.
    Good Luck. :)

Wow, this application is great, really shows your intelligence.
You do need to be a lot more active on the forums though. (helping out, replying to other threads).

    Hey, nice application :)

So, detail looks good, you help in messages as you had said, and a very mature personality. Sounds like a full support from me.

Just one thing, you might wanna throw in a bolded note about your old forum account. (Yes, I had noticed the note at the top, but maybe just making it more appealing will decrease the amount of comments about it)

    Good luck!
