You are banned because you were only supposed to destroy the top level and you destroyed more than that. In the additional blocks you destroyed, you took soul sand which is illegal to trade.
If it was an accident, why did you not replace the broken blocks and why did you destroy so many blocks all around the island and not tell Micah about it or replace them? I do not believe this was an accident.
