Alright, so I've had an issue, and it's obvious who with and what for. Should staff ban on FORUMS for IN GAME matters? Should staff ban IN GAME for FORUMS matters? Is it abuse if they do? Is it alright if they don't? I'm so confused, so just comment your thoughts below.
Staff shouldn't be allowed to ban in game for forums matters, visa versa. It's like banning for something that happened on skype or something. I think it's abuse. No.
Banning someone on the forums for something in-game doesn't sound like it would make any sense. As for banning on the server for something on the forums, that is completely reasonable.
The forums are where the players of the server go to discuss the server. That's what the forums were made for. The same staff on the server are the same staff on the forums, so if something happens on the forums, they are free to punish in-game and/or on the forums for it, to make sure it doesn't happen in either place.
Usually players are punished on the medium that they commit the offence for. In some cases, punishments may extend across mediums if it's serious enough, for example, players have been globally banned for toxic behaviour despite only exhibiting behaviour on a subset of Crew's servers, Eg. death threats, DoXing/DoXing threats, DDoSing etc.
Banning someone on forums for ingame matters seems unreasonable to me. Although banning someone ingame for forum matters seems reasonable, because someone on forums could have threatened a player or done something that could have negative consequences ingame.
