This plugin makes trees act like cacti. You break the bottom block and you get the whole tree. This plugin Is Almost Fully Customizable. Link To Plugin Here I think I put too many suggestions. LOL.
Seems harmless enough and rather useful. It might get a little laggy though if a bunch of people start chopping down jungle trees. Support if it won't cause too much lag.
Partial Support. It would be very useful however, it could make the server very laggy. Also, it would make it very easy to obtain wood.
I'm not really sure, wood would probably go down in value because it'd be so easy to get. I'll partially support.

Support. Personally, I think it should be a donor50/donor100+ perk. Because then, wood would be literally worthless, and the use of axes would be greatly decrease. And as Blurted/OhWonder said, it would create server lag if multiple items are dropped at the same time. One player would not cause such things, but imagine 100-300+ players doing it at the same time. TL;DR = Support, Donator Perk. Why high-priced donator ranks? Because there's alot of donor 10-50s, although the 50s won't be needing to chop wood, as they can simply buy some, there are alot of 10 and 25s that does. Let's say there are 4 wood blocks in one oak tree. There's 6 donor 10s and 8 donor 25s that are currently chopping trees. That would be a total of 14 donors. 14x4 is 56. So 56 wood blocks would be dropped at the same time. That's IF they only chop one tree. If it wasn't a donor only perk, imagine 50+ unranked players chopping trees. This would create a MASSIVE server lag.
Partial support. Although this would be a handy plugin, as stated above, it could cause lots of server lag.
