I'd really like to visit Britain some day, maybe go to a university there. My parents did the same and assure me it's nothing special, but there you go

Ah yes, that sounds all very complicated, and from what I understand many of those who voted for it were unsure of why and regret it. Hopefully that can be fixed up... I wonder if Australia became independent it might have a similar result, but I don't have a deep enough understanding of these things to say.
