I have a friend one state over that I'm really missing, and it doesn't seem that far, but I can't drive yet and they're about 5 hours away so it's basically impossible for me to see them.

Do they have internet? Or a phone? Can you call them, or Skype? I realize instant communication has become the normal thing, but perhaps a letter would be OK?

YES, they are farther away and the lack of physically being close bothers you. I understand that, ma'am. Really I do.
