That doesn't make any sense, what kind of argument is this? You guys are the peacekeepers. You work to protect the players, NOT to exert your power over others. I started this thread to help new moderators get more of a sense of the importance of their job so they put more thought into legitimate punishments. I didn't want this to become an argument, I really didn't. It depressing, really, when I can't even give positive advice because people are so ready to jump down my throat. For a bunch of sensitive people, you guys sure attack strong. Hypocrites.
I listen to those that're staff. I do not enforce or follow ex-staff or non-staff. Reason why is because they don't know the new follow up us mods are currently using. We're working on new punishments as one whole. Although, I can see your point and it's pretty much debatable. As for us TMods, we're still in trial, still training and always learning.
Dude quit acting like such a stuck up entitled (-snip-). Youre oh so secret mod chats that you dont even experience as a tmod dont matter in this situation, no need to bring up your power that you cling so dearly to.
"the new follow up" It doesn't matter what sort of "new technique" you guys are using. Bottom line, my friend got banned for being "inappropriate" and I got kicked for "bad names" today without any warning for either of us. That is not okay no matter how you look at "the new follow up"
I'm aware of who was banned by who. I don't need a reminder. As for "bad names"? I'm not fully understanding on what you're saying here.
HOW IS SHE WRONG ABOUT SOMEONE NOT FOLLOWING THE RULES NEEDING TO BE PUNISHED? YOU BREAK THE RULES THEN YOU GET PUNISHED. Why is that if a mod starts giving you hints as to why you may have said something that MAY or MAY NOT be wrong, you always take it out of proportion? She obviously did not need you to bring up the past when Cyp gave her back the position. So I would like to rebring up that it is ALL UP TO CYP ABOUT THINGS. Period.
Everything you say is sucking up to Cyp, who are you anyway? And I repeat, "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."
This server is not connected to the US constitution. We follow rules that are set in stone. And it doesn't matter who I am. It only matters that you take things way out of proportion when a CURRENT mod tells you things.
I'm trying to shed some light on the subject and let people be aware of how it feels. Too often moderators forget that they're supposed to be protecting the masses that they once were a part of. I'm just putting everything in perspective. What...? .... what....?
There are indeed a lot of new mods, who just joined the forums for a bit, and are mostly donors. mostly* I feel like if they promoted more experienced members, then there would be a lot less problems.
I don't mind it, really, I was just trying to give some insight. These people clearly don't know what it's like to be banned, so I was trying to help them imagine the actual damage they're doing to someone.
"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." These are things that the people of the US have said when putting things into our constitution. This is a server. Not a country. And regardless of any of that. I stand on my original post of saying you break the rules you face the consequences. Now I understand how you would feel about the Skrub thing, but depending on the mod, that word may be offensive to them. You don't know their stories. I do understand that this forums was posted for good, but then Krissy came in to set down the same thing I commented on here with. You just blew up and brought back the past, that does not have anything to do with the current.
I understand you completely. Mods can be vague and imperfect. Sorry this had happened. We need to be a bit more cautious of what's acceptable in chat and what's out-of-hand to the point where we start taking action.
It doesn't matter if the mod is offended, only the person I'm saying it to. If you break the rules, you face the consequences... SET FOR THAT SPECIFIC BROKEN RULE. If you curse, you get kicked. If you loot, you get banned. Not vice versa and for good reason. I brought back up the past because Krissy was going on about how if you break the rule, you should face the consequences. Where's her punishment then? All she got was an "aww, welcome back." There were no repercussions like there are for the rest of us.
Thats literally the entire point of this entire thread. You subtly defending that kick makes you even more of an idiot and a suck-up, in my eyes.
